I really like these. I discovered they can fly back at your face last week. I had my perscription glasses on and the lens protected my eye, but the spike hit straight on, going through all the coatings. My glasses are being re-done. My fault, I learned a lesson. I also bought more spikes, they are a great design and keep raccoons and birds away from my figs. Thanks for your video, know I know a good way to cut them.

For me, I have a woodpecker who lands on the furnace vent on the roof and hammers away. It creates quite a racket inside the house, especially at 5:30 in the morning. I'll need to curve mine around horizontally. Due to Arizona heat, I don't think that glue will hold them in place, so I'll be using sheet metal screws to secure them.

unfortuneately you will have birds build nests in the spikes soon...the sparrows and other smaller birds will be able to land inside the spikes. use a hardware cloth or coated wire mesh to screw to bottom board and to side boards and will have total control

Thanks for the heads up but after having this installed for a year now, I still don’t have any bird nests.

These have worked perfectly for me. Still no bird nests after well over a year. I’m a happy guy! 😄
