I have added conditioner each and every time I have bleached my hair. I believe it is called a bleach bath. Some people add shampoo as well to make it "less harsh". I do not know if it actually does something, but it makes me feel better.

yeah every time I bleached it again I was like girl this is the one where you are going to be bald and have to make a "what not to do" video. but I really think that spacing out the bleaching/toning and the deep conditioning/protein treatments helped.

It’s crazy how different brown hair responds to bleach on different people. I had to bleach mine 4 times too but then I see other brown hair they get a great lift after just one bleach.

Yes! I think it has something to do with the porosity too. Looser curls need less bleach but they also damage a lot faster.

When my hair was shorter I only had to do it 2x but since I’ve grown it out & kept it 100% natural. I’ve had to bleach it 4 times, and color it twice. But my curl pattern looks 10x better and it’s still coily at a level 7! I understand lol

I bleach mines with BW twice 50 volume developer... Condition deeply two days prior...all the coconut oil was blocking the action of the bleach

You have to bleach it to a pale yellow. The color in your avi looks perfect! Just tone it from there. You may have to tone it and wait a few days for the silver/people color to adjust to a white

My hair is salt and pepper naturally and I have natural hair (full top/shorter sides and back) however, I want to go platinum in the crown and partial sides only. I would suggest that if you can find olaplex do use it. I was ok with over processing my natural curls because my hair was so short and I'm ok with cutting it off. But if you want to retain any type of health I suggest olaplex. Easier to get if you have a hair licensee or a hair dresser friend. If you cant get your hands on it do alot of protein and silicon treatments (aphogee and silicon mix works fine) in between bleaching. Try to keep your bleaching sessions at least a week and a half apart if you can.

Can I use olive oil or jojoba oil instead of coconut? Also, is it ok if I had gel in my hair from a previous wash or should I wash my hair again and apply oil?

Wash your hair and apply coconut oil for at least two days before you bleach. I can't vouch for other oils. I think coconut oil is the best bet because it is thick and dries solid so it creates a tougher barrier

It would yellow. It's very high maintenance. I recommend washing it with a purple shampoo biweekly at least.

It's the same one I've had since I've gotten it pierced. It's a titanium 18 gauge I think. It's a sprial screw type... Which I don't completely recommend because if it gets accidentally pulled out it hangs there and hurts like a bitch

I'm trying to find a way I can turn my hair white with out having to buy any hair products. I know that one way to get lighter hair is by using peroxide and pure baking soda, but I don't know if it can turn my hair ACTUAL white. I have blonde hair. Anyone have any ideas?
