Thank you for this very well crafted video! I just ordered this kit because of you. I cannot wait to get building. My wife wanted a Bluetooth speaker for Christmas, but the one she wanted is out of stock. Now I'm going to build her this. I can't wait to get started on the build!

The kits are some of there best stuff. They are a great way to test the waters and see if you want to get into speaker building. My entire home theater setup is based on the TriTrix Kit. If you want something with better bass consider upgrading to the blast box. These little 4" drivers run out of steam when the bass drops low.

Better in a sealed box with a few passive radiators to go with it. Much better sound and more bass for little money. Just put in a 6" mailing tube. BOOM

Hi Audio Guy, you rock! I enjoyed your video. As I have never built a speaker before this is exactly what I was looking for. do You have any suggestions for improving eh bass sound on this project kit?
@DIYAudioGuy
@DIYAudioGuy 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the compliment I appreciate it. There is no easy way to modify this kit. You could probably build your own enclosure and design your own port in order to get better bass. The problem with this enclosure is that the port tuning is just too high for my personal taste. That does not mean that you will not enjoy it. If you like the bass then I would recommend a different kit. Parts Express has 2.1 kits that are a tad bit more expensive but they should perform better. Just hit the link in the description to the current kit and you can navigate from there to find others.

I have a pair of Dayton HO 10's sitting in the garage. I grabbed them the last time they were on sale. Still not sure what I am going to do with them. Right now I just use them as props in my videos. I like look of the black anodized aluminum cones.

Ouch, that veneer! I am considering 10 mil oak on mine, but maybe painting the baffle flat black or building out the radius with plastic wood to square it. At any rate a router with a flush trim is mandatory, as long as the bearing is thin enough for the speaker flange depth cut.
@DIYAudioGuy

Yeah, I should have painted mine. Not my best veneer work.

Great video! I have a question: If I have all of the parts for this kit except for the crossover boards, what am I looking for? I don't know the first thing about crossover boards. What can I search for to get those same ones?
@DIYAudioGuy

I don't think these pre-made crossover boards are available for sale. My advice is to reach out to Parts Express tech support. They can tell you for sure.

@DIYAudioGuy
@DIYAudioGuy 3 жыл бұрын
If you have the kit all of that is done for you. But, I did not take any measurements or write down any specifications when I built it so I don't have any information on how to make the ports and crossover from scratch.

I can tell the inside partitions are 1/4” MDF but what size is the rest of the box 1/2 or 3/4 MDF?
@DIYAudioGuy
@DIYAudioGuy 3 жыл бұрын
I think it is 1/2, It might even be 5/8, but it's definitely not 3/4. I did not measure it while I was building the kit, not sure why because that would have been useful information.

Hey, very nice Video! Keep up the good work. Would it be possible for you to give me the parts of the crossover? i want to make portable speaker like this and i already have this tweeter and want to do it for passive radiators. Can you please look at the parts and say me the parts of the crossover? Resistor and the stuff.... Would be very nice :)
@DIYAudioGuy
@DIYAudioGuy 4 жыл бұрын
The crossover came with the kit. It was 100% pre asembled and soldered to a PCB. I did not examine it very closely so I do not know the values for the crossover components. It was designed to be plug and play so I just plugged and played. Sorry that I cannot help.

@@DIYAudioGuy Nice! I use mine as individual satellites for every speaker (apart from sub) in my atmos system. For such wide angle projection speakers their image really is pin point accurate isn’t it?! Mine are large ported boxes too, it’s a 3 part 3d print per box. 1 for the baffle, 1 for the speaker terminals and 1 for the enclosure. When I get a cnc mill I’ll be replacing the press fit baffles with ones made out of wood! 🥳

@DIYAudioGuy 4 жыл бұрын
That sounds pretty damn sweet! I pulled mine out of their enclosures just this last weekend, I was getting tired of the big bulky enclosures and I'm going to rebuild into something a bit smaller.
