I think a great solution would be to convert my broken front power windows to a manual window crank. Is there a way to convert these to manual roll up windows? Let's face it, If you drive an E39 and dont want your windows to fail, just keep them all the way up and never touch the window buttons ever 😂😂😂. I have owned 3 E39 and all have had some regulator or sunroof issue.

Does pre face lift matter? Or will all e39s have the same ?

So I bought a cable kit to rebuild my rear regulator. The second type. I've measured the new cables against my old mangled ones - same length, yet after I wind both new cables on to the pulley wheel, compress the spring to the max - I'm still short by an inch or more. What am I missing? Any ideas?

hey my window doesn't work but I can't get the door open from the inside or out e39 rear passenger how can I get it open ? the motor is still good in the window

i have e46 M3 2 door, its a 2002, noticed this summer window kinda starting to get sloppy going up and down, are the 2 door cars any different then the 4 door?

@NathanDIYGarage I just replaced my driver side front window regulator. I ordered a eBay regulator, swapped the motor from the old onto the new one, installed and reassembled it without testing it. After the the door air bag and everything plugged up I rolled the window it. It started fine and got half way and slowed down then stopped 1/3 from the top. I rolled it back down and tried a again it went a little further so I helped it with my hand the rest of the way. I reached the top. I thought it was fine so I rolled it back down and then up and it started to make the crackling sound I heard when it stopped working the other day. I left it alone for now. I googled it and someone suggested a window reset? Do you agree or know how to do this, or should I roll it down and loosen the bolts that hold the window onto the regulator because they could possibly be too tight? Thanks

loosen the bottom bolts and try it it sounds like its binding

NONE of your videos shows you removing or installing the cable to the motor.
