This is a fantastic tutorial! I just used it yesterday (with slightly different measurements) to make a laptop case out of an old t-shirt I wanted to repurpose. This was super easy to follow, and your idea of using clips instead of pins is brilliant!

I leave the liner fabric protruding out a 1/4”, it accents the top edge. I also make binding tape from the liner fabric to add to the top edge of a pocket that’s 2/3 the size of the sleeve. This allows me to carry papers, writing utensils, stuff in the pocket. Add a small strap and button closure, maybe some lace in the seams! Get creative!

Hello! I loved your tutorial and you have encouraged me to make a cover for my books. but I would like to know where you bought the "Beauty and the Beast" fabric. thanks! ❤️

I am so glad you liked this tutorial. I got the Beauty and the Beast fabric from Joanns.

This is awesome! Could you film how to include a zipper? ☺️

I have never sewn with a zipper before so I don't think I would be your best resource for that

I feel silly for asking but do you know what dimensions would be appropriate to fit the Harry Potter books? I followed your tutorial for myself & love the size of it but I want to make a gift for a friend. The size you have fit for the first 3 HP books but then they get thicker after that and won’t fit.
@TalesTeacups4 жыл бұрын
I would say maybe go up 1-1.5 inches on each side using the dimensions I provided in this tutorial. I hope this helps :)

Tales&Teacups I will try that out, thank you!

Could you please say which type of fabric the Beauty & the Beast one and the inside fabric was? I would like to make it myself but don't know if, say, a jersey would survive me ironing it to the form stuff.

They are both cotton fabric

Does it need to be double sided foam stabalizer? Or just one side?
@TalesTeacups2 жыл бұрын
Double sided. You need the outside and inner layer to adhere to it.
