It totally is awesome. I have a friend Brian that is dying to get one of these. He's been living in the woods since his girlfriend left him last week. But he's got a ton of dirty laundry to wash. Can he outfit a smaller washing machine in there? Something good enough to deal with stubborn blood stains on linens?

I think I would do this design with some tweaks to make it mostly electric. Hybrid van, fewer interior materials, underfloor heating, bamboo flooring, foldable small sywtch bike, hand-cranked wonderwash for off grid laundry; electric oven; composting toilet, flexible folding solar panels. Lithium batteries. Murphy bed to fold over seating area. Self-drying door for shower. Strong extractor fan. Bin for laundry and space for trash can.

Put drawers in the shoe box so you can separate & find particular shoes easier. Even better is a half drop shoe shelf, I don’t know what else to call it. Put the box on a swivel so you can use 2sides of the box for shoes, making better use of space & accessibility.

We need two separate sleeping areas as well as at least one desk. Having a drop down bed/murphy bed and convertible furniture gives you so much more space and utility. Your entire rig is fabulous. Great job.

What a nice box truck conversion! It looks simple and minimalistic. Great with the barn like doors in the back to open up the inside and bring the outside in when parked at a beach or some other place with an extraordinary view. Not to forget the elevating bed to save space and the door to the cab area. However I would probably build a sliding door to the toilet and still use the toilet in a more traditional way and use a bag. But all together a great build!

Very beautiful design, something I would like to point out for all potential builders (critique) is the butchers block counter tops. Though they do look good, they are not recommended for use in this way as they will swell and warp in little to no time at all. If you wish to use a wood top as a counter, wall, floor, etc. Redwood is the #1 wood to use as it does not warp as most mixed woods or your typical woods do. Redwood handled great through all the seasons and will last you your entire lifetime 80+ yrs before any noticable change occurs. Butcher blocks tend to warp and swell 3-5 yrs after install. Most of the cases it's not really noticable to the untrained eye, as the swelling usually occurs in the middle and is visible on the bottom. Around 7 yrs you will see warping occurring where corners lift up in different directions, etc. The changing of temps/humidity/etc contribute greatly to this (changing of the seasond). Redwood can be treated to resemble any type of wood design you like (yes even made to look like a butcher block) without the chemical treatment of most common butcher blocks. I like the way you guys used your space, it's designed is wonderful and homely.

I keep getting links to van/ box truck builds and I like the stealth ones the best as they can be parked most anywhere, however yours is pretty close to that, and about the best, complex build I have seen! I don't know whether you got your ideas from your friend, KZbin, books, or just experience. I love all the lighting options! I am 75 and now enjoying what others do with sailing the world and "seeing" new places, and building stuff. I built a more complete than most "hippy van" in my 20s, and have messed with boats over the years, but now have an Air 2 and new Mavic 3 that I travel and camp with.

Nice layout. One thing I didn't catch while watching the video, is how many "gray tanks" do you have? I'm assuming they're separate. Right? One for shower, one for your sink?? And just out of curiosity, I'm probably going with a mid sized Limo Bus conversion, but will also use 6 Lithium batteries. How many solar panels were you able to put on your roof with the other items already there. Like you mentioned the Sky light on the bed, and the A/C unit. I know the space on a small van like that is limited.

Just a lovely conversion, well done! With an induction cooktop and you fridge both running of off 120v, how do you find the load on the battery - I believe in the video you mentioned being able to go a week on battery and solar alone? After that are you required to drive the vehicle or connect to shore power?
