Hello Sir, Thankyou so much for your video and kind consideration of others and your help. Some really helpful pointers were, I didn't know, not to push the pedal to the floor when bleeding. I also found magnets on the side of your bleeding bottle a great idea. Thank you again, you were a great help and inspiration.

Hello Sir, I've just completed my rear drum brake job. I'm thrilled. You were the engine that helped and pushed me to do it. In the beginning, it seemed daunting, and if something went wrong, I was apprehensive in knowing what to do. I didn't renew the brake shoes, that wasn't the problem. The problem was that the brakes weren't releasing after overnight parking. I assumed something had seized. In the process of refitting the shoes, I caught the cylinder seal and a little fluid seaped out. I've just bled that cylinder and all went great. In future, I won't be afraid of having a look because I now have the confidence to go forward. That's all down to you, my friend. Sleep well tonight Sir. I am one of the many people you've helped. Thank you, and Godbless you. Ps. I've just watched it again. Straight, to the point, is easy to follow. Genius, my friend. You should be in Hollywood with films like that! 😉.

What I usually do is have someone press the brake fully, with system closed, then I open the valve quickly and reclose it, so no air enters the system. How would this damage seals? Isn't this what happens when you brake normally in the car? Or do you mean it would damage seals if someone pressed the brake fully while the valve was open?

I naturally & respectfully assume that you are using a torque wrench (as against an ordinary wrench) to do the job in the first place??? All torque wrenches have a set of simple instructions that they come with & the tool itself is very easy to use & set to the desired torque setting you want!! It's actually school boy stuff & I'm only a DIY mechanic. (I normally service boring computers, ugh!!) Plenty of good instructional videos on Torque Wrench use on "KZbin".

It depends on the car. Usually with left hand drive cars the rear passenger side is the first one based on the longest distance from the master cylinder. In some cars the abs system may change that. You have to follow the scheme laid out in the service manual of the particular car and it's version.

I had a first today. I replaced a rear cylinder on my truck and had someone pump the brakes while I bled them. 3 pumps and hold, I loosened the bleeder valve, brakes did not go to the bottom nor did any fluid come out. Finally on third try, a "little" fluid came out. Brakes did not go to bottom. Tried 5 or 6 times, a little more fluid came out but brakes never went to the bottom. Drove it and brakes feel a little spongy. I have never heard of the brakes not going the bottom when the valve is opened. Thanks for some ideas,

why slow and light pumps? other videos people pump the pedal to the floor. just want to know the right way!
@MrRangerZr1
@MrRangerZr1 3 жыл бұрын
That is completely wrong. You do not want to go further down than normal pedal travel. That will stress the seals booster etc

@@MrRangerZr1 but this way with bleeder open is going to get Air into ??
@MrRangerZr1
@MrRangerZr1 3 жыл бұрын
@@jose15pina1 No that's why you just crack the bleeder screw open, no need to unscrew it too much. Plus this bottle has a check valve.

Easy but it takes forever when alone. I generally use over a gallon to get it clean...

Over a gallon is extreme. If dirt keeps on coming out, the system is really corroded.
