I don’t have the pans and I don’t have anything that I can create the template with. The liners I want to make are for my boyfriends chinchilla. Can you comment the measurements of the pans, the two big ones with the one with the cut out and the smaller pans measurements? :)

I have to use free and gentle detergent for my skin, let alone my furbabies. 😁

So does my husband. I completely understand, I actually just use it across the board now. It’s easier than using a bunch of different kinds 😃

What stitch do you use?
@FerretTails2 жыл бұрын
I use a straight stitch. I have an industrial sewing machine now and it only does straight stitches. You could use a zig zag, or reinforce adding another straight stitch I sell a lot of these on Etsy and so far I have not had any issues with the stitching. I also use a high quality thread that is a bit stronger than the thread I use to buy from Joann’s. It’s called American & Efird TEX40 Black 32002

For the critter nation cages is 2.5 yards enough for all 4 pans?
@FerretTails3 жыл бұрын
You would need about 5 yards total. 2.5 for the top of the liners and 2.5 for the bottom. This should make all four pans, 3 ramps and a 16” x 16” flat hammock

Is this feasible to do not on an industrial machine? I don’t really have access to one anymore...
@FerretTails11 ай бұрын
Absolutely, I use to make them on my singer! I would just go slow, and make sure your stitch length is at a 4 and I use to use needles for jeans. It stopped them from breaking

You would need a lot of liners if they needed changing every day cause the ferrets poop and pee on them.

A large majority of owners, at least in the US litter train their ferrets, so they are not using the bathroom all over the place. All 5 of mine are litter trained. They do have e accidents occasionally, but never in the cage, only when their playing outside the cage. They typically will not use the bathroom on their bedding/where they sleep.

@@FerretTails our ferrets refuse to use a litter tray. We have tried everything. They poop everywhere. All over the house and in every corner of the cage. Have to use puppy pee pads on every shelf and have to change them every day. Wish there was some other way

@@AL-ru3nk I’m so sorry, there are some ferrets who just don’t want anything to do with the litter box and in that case, you would definitely spend a lot of time changing the liners. I have heard if people only using liners on the shelves/areas of the cage they don’t poop/pee and using puppy pads everywhere else. For my ferrets I had to switch the type of litter I was using a couple of times before they really started using the litter box consistently. I also would block all of the corners of the cage with either a litter box or piles of fleece. I tied the fleece to the sides the cage so they couldn’t move it away from the corners. Mine would not go the bathroom on the fleece. Mine also will not use a dirty litter box, I have to scoop the litter several times a day. If it’s dirty, they won’t use it and will poop on the floor next to it. They have their bedroom and they sleep in the cage by choice, but to cut down on the accidents, I have 6 litter boxes in their room. 2 of the boxes are in the cage on the bottom, but they are so use to those two boxes being there that if I move them they will poop in the cage where those boxes were.

@@FerretTails thank you. I will try and fill up the corners. I have to tape the pee pads down with masking tape or they just lift it off. They rip them up also. Just wish there was some other pad I could use that would last longer than one day or that I could wipe clean.

@@AL-ru3nk There is another Etsy shop called The Pickled Ferret Parlor, she makes a great treat oil for ferrets, but she also has a pee pad on her shop that looks like it could be wiped clean/shaken out and it can be washed. I looked into this recently for the doorway of my ferret room, That’s the one place mine have the most accidents. I ended deciding to make one instead of buying one, but I haven’t done it yet lol, but it may help for what you’re looking for www.etsy.com/listing/683460414/medium-green-quilted-22x34-dookie-pad
