Use a Hammock instead, cuz they are the best for your back and they are super ez to put up and take-down. I learned that from all the old retired factory worker men whose wives wanted to travel and discovered the best nights sleep they had ever got in years were in fact in Hammocks! I would consider some type of rubber isolator between the fuel pump and the frame. The frame is using the wooden floor as an amplifier. You did a great job on the camper. 👍

Foresty Forest has also dealt with the fuel pump clicking issue for awhile, and ended up finding a silent(ish) fuel pump from a guy that builds them himself. May be worth checking out.

You might want to think about enclosing the bottom of the trailer you could get some tin roof material and enclosed the bottom of it to keep y’all in line from getting ripped off and damaged and corroded just a thought other than that you did a very nice job on the camper build👍You earned this cold beer🍺

I'll admit when im wrong or at least overly optimistic. I'll feel better knowing it's safer . I'm hoping to have that video up in a week or 2 , and hit the road to do some camping

Love the recent additions to the camper. We use a 400watt ceramic heater for our teardrop, but I know a few diy teardrop people who use the diesels. For safety for you and yours, I highly recommended a carbon monoxide detector in the camper. Keep up the great videos!

The way that a refrigerator works isn't to cool per se, but to remove heat. That insulation with either be genius or regretful. Please update us? FANTASTIC JOB!! Very creative.

Great build, very impressed. In my builds I used chest type 12v fridges - holds more and cold stays in when you open the lid. I used solar, so, 12v electric blanket with a timer and got up before wife and lit one burner on campstove to cut the chill. Had a 3 blade sailboat fan (.25 amp) to move air

Maybe it is due to age, but I couldn't manage with a refrigerator on the floor. I would have built a cabinet with a trash can or dirty clothes bin or something under the refrigerator to raise it up. I use rubber grommets or washers and foam to try and isolate noisy items like water or fuel pumps. I like your reasoning on the plywood. I bought my wood in early fall of one year, let it sit in the sun until rain, then put it around the sides of the garage until early spring, then painted it with deck paint before mounting it to the pontoon frame. It lasted 14 years sitting in the weather before I replaced it with aluminum dock decking.

Awesome build, we have an old Coleman Rio Grande that is mouse ridden. This gives me a great idea of what to do with it. I did notice that both inlet and exhaust for the heater where below the floor, not sure if anyone has made a comment, but it might be a good idea to get a stainless screen to place over them in order to keep out the mud daubers, and other nest building pests. ... now to add to my 'round tuit' list :)

This was one of the most informative and enjoyable videos on a camper build. The diesel heater you put in was a good addition to the camper I am a hvac/r guy and those little jet furnaces are are great. The refrigerator you in stalled with the freezer was a great idea; however, the freezer usually does not get cold enough to hold ice cream to temp and that’s because of the sugar content in the ice cream. Looking forward to another adventure with you. Oh, nice shop I would love to have a shop like that.

We have the same heater. My husband has the entire setup in an igloo cooler and.it sits outside our camper except for the heat tube. We use it in the garage, the tent and the camper. Have had it 3 years with no issues.

I used a round tin both ends removed put through the floor for the exhaust our first attempt the ply floor started to smolder nearly caught on fire. Good video

FUEL PUMP... its just a pump not heated I have one. Put insulation around it and it will quite it down 90 % and it's totally safe. Love your build

One little trick when installing hoses over nipples is to dip the end of the hose in rubbing alcohol. The hose will slide right on the nipple. Works for rubber grips on bicycle handlebar s also . Great build. I learn new ways of doing things with every project.

You are quite a craftsman, great job! 👍 At some point, you may want to consider beefing up the axle. I used to have a small mowing trailer with the same rated axle and hit a big pothole and the axle bent big time. The wheel was pointed sideways. The trailer place said that’s too lightly rated an axle and I replaced it with a 2500 lb axle. I know it doesn’t sound like much difference but it was much beefier and I never had another problem

Makes sense about the floor. I once built a fence out of treated lumber. The people at the hardwarestore told me not to paint it for atleast 4 months. 15 years on - rock solid, not needed a repaint.

I installed a diesel heater in our pop up camper for deer hunting and it melted the plastic vents. I found a couple of metal vents on Amazon and fixed. Works great!

No, they were from a different co. and I had to replace the hose with dryer vent hose so I could tighten the hose down on the vent. Its a tad smaller than the original

So I have clicked on the second video directly from the last... well done. Presuming this is a public forum and you are a distributor of good information, corrections and the like which is helpful to others (Thank you !) Please share that the "foil" or reflective surface, IS EXTREEMLY IMPORTANT. With experimentations on real homes etc behind me it may be better to share the "perspective" which leads one to use it in the best manner for the circumstances. "Reflect the extremes" or "Reflect what you don't want." It is natural to think that one wants to reflect the atmosphere you want but it turns out that you are really wanting to eliminate unwanted heat or cold or whatever you don't want. In virtually every situation concerning habitation, one wants to reflect the heat in the summer and reflect the cold in the winter... yes "Reflect" the cold. It works for both heat and cold... after all it reflects whatever is present to reflect... isn't it interesting that a cutting laser does not "impact" a mirror or glass which is clean? Just a thought to challenge the mind. in the same way we the people need to institute "Mandatory Competency Testing" to insure those in positions of public trust are at the least "Competent" to serve. The Constitution has only one prohibitation on tests and that is "no religious test shall ever be required for any office of public trust or profit." but there is absolutely no reason that we should not require our employees to know the laws of this company and the purpose for which it was created, "That to secure these Rights , Governments are instituted ..." We need to "Reflect" the laws we have had written for us or get rid of them. We the creators and maintainers... oh yes just as this trailer needs to be maintained and checked for "breaches" by water or "leakage" of air, heat, ac, or bugs, ants, termites... Speaking of which if I may suggest to tar, oil soak or some other preservative on EVERY piece of anything and the backside of panels and particularly the ends of any celery stalk/wood . Oh, since you used screws (fasteners) (I dislike nails in general for so many reasons and yes predrill always except when wen wood is wet or soft and you lube the screw... you can so an experiment whenever you remove it for some reason... put a reflective layer on before putting the siding back on. I use the 1/2 inch foam with shinny foil on one side. They may be hard to find but get them dropped at your local hardware store if they don't want to do residential... it's worth the trouble... I've been saving all the potato ship bags with reflective foil, my dogs clean it very well for me and via "reuse, recycle and compost" principle will spray or role a contact glue to the surface and create a reflective shield with "free" trash... let ya know how it works... Blessings

Your attention to details is impressive.Probably your weight concerns lie in the tires, buy a higher weight rated tire in the future,but you'll be fine.Having lived in a truck camper ?I would have added a roof vent.Maxxair or Fantastic Fan.Solar panel option.But AWESOME!!Ty alot of great ideas.

Thanks !! I upgraded the tires to the highest ply they could get . I've had a couple comments from guys that work at boat dealers that talked about springs failing and causing bad crashes that has become my bigger worry now . I might see if I can find someone to swap out the axle and suspension to get some real piece of mind .

Great video! If the fuel pump is solid mounted to the trailer frame, you can rubber mount it which will cut way down on the thumping/clicking sound.

I'll have to look into that the mount itself is pretty thick rubber I thought it would do the trick but I'll have to improve it

I guess if one desired a lavatory/bathroom, it would need to be about 3' longer. But that does add a lot of extra steps in building it, in the needed items, holding tanks, etc.

I agree. Pressure treated wood needs at least a full month of 100 degree weather before you paint it. More time if you can wait.

You did such a great job on this camper build! your a great carpenter. 👍 you could run an a longer fuel line and wiring to the fuel pump and Mount it in a separate box on the front by the tongue and stuff the small box with fiberglass installation, it should help muffle that clicking sound of the fuel pump.

To help quiet the pump down. You might wanna try putting rubber isolaters. Between the bolts that have it bolted to your frame

When install heater to my caravan i use small spring to mount fuel pump, to reduce sound and it work perfect.
