I've been watching as many videos as I can before tackling my 24' Class C RV remodel. Your is one of the best!! So..Thanks!! I've done a fair a mount of construction projects and with all of those I had a clear vision of how things would go but......because I'm not positive what I completely want to do...it's been hard to start without that total plan of a finish. the contact paper can hold up for a long time....I used to cover my counters in nearly every house we rented....just watch heat and water on it... its fun to change things around and up date... works great for country look....

Great job!! You should cover the countertop with epoxy. There’s some great countertop epoxy videos on KZbin. It would be inexpensive with this counter!! Plus you can use it on the table if needed. Just for long wear.

How is the contact paper on the countertops holding up?

Yeah it's the kinda thing that looks good in photos, but up close probably looks like.... Contact paper. If the counters were intact I'd had suggested to paint them. I've seen some good results with painted and heavily sealed counters. Could have done a similar faux marble look to it as well.

You should be so proud of yourself!!! You did an amazing job on the kitchen!! The only thing I would do myself, with 5 people in the camper is put in a new tall faucet with the small sink. The white cabinets made a huge difference! The white really opens up the space and make the kitchen look so much bigger.

Kat Reid Actually the white paired with the black is equivalent to two big horizontal stripes and really expand the space. Where you need to see if things are clean and bright, the white works really well.

Jo Me too.. We have a 1984 Motor home. .. I redid it... but its been about 10 years .... We live in the city limits Northern Calif... Our neighbor are allowed to raise chicken... they bring "RAT'S" And rats bring "SNACK'S!!".... I know there are roof rats..most likely inside hubby trapped a few... But what we learned rather late...the people who sold this to my husband for $6000 ... Dummied the door... after 4 trips the door came off the hinges. .. We thought we were going to have to drive home doorless.. I love how you did both your walls and doors... did you also put polyurethane on the walls?? And if you know how we can replace the outside door.... please let me know... I sit here nite after nite looking at renovations or tiny houses until 5:am every nite..

I painted a kitchen in a house once. It is indeed a lot of work and using oil based products is quite yucky. Good for you for putting in the time and effort. It looks amazing.

Hi Kayla, Watching this one again with my dad. Another thought for your liquid sandpaper.... you can also use TSP (Tri-Sodium Phosphate) to "de-glaze" the camper walls. Another thought & easier to get 👍👍👍👍

Glidden Gripper primer is a much better product than Kilz. It will stick to anything. Sand your doors and then the Glid. Grip.

Thanks! I used semi-gloss paint and satin Varathane sealer. The Polycrylic sealer finish is what you'll see, I only used semi-gloss paint because I had lots on hand already.

Contact paper on a counter...not a great idea. Will melt with anything hot. Especially splatter from your stovetop. It picks easy too. Otherwise it looks good.

you cant paint hinges... this is a botch job.... after opening the doors 5-6 times the paint will wear off, alos putting vinyl sticker over your counter tops is goof idea, the minuit you put a hot pan or slip with a knife it will ruin it. this is a cheap quick reno to flip the camper and never see it again,

Your camper looks so refreshed and bright. I adore the clean open vibe the updates offer. It's difficult to comprehend the dark and dreary oak and ugly upholstering were ever considered elegant or fashionable. Whenever I see the outdated/antiquated campers, I find it suffocating and seems filthy and gross. Excellent job. Inspiring.

I used contact paper on my kitchen counter once, Just and FYI, the pattern and color wear off during use in a very short time. every time you slide something across, or wipe it down, it fades more and more.

use clear ir white caulking between your backsplash and the counter to avoid moisture go under the furniture by thhose corners . great job!

I would have just lightly sanded the cabinets, and resealed them. White reminds me of death. The last time I saw my fiance he was surrounded in white blankets while in a coma. I had to decide to take him off life support.

Looks awesome, Great job!!!! One thing I would do is either add some white caulking where the wall and counters meet or find some cheap cheap little half round molding or tiles and glue that where the wall and counters meet so you won't see a gap. I love the makeover!!😊

It's definitely a TON of work, but it can definitely be done! It is easier with two or three people, so working with friends is a great option!
