I seriously love the creativity in your kitchen, both in terms of the design, but also in making use of whatever materials you still had. I have a feeling that what started out as your makeshift budget kitchen is going to be far superior to whatever I can do. Great humour as well, much needed during the apocalypse! Thanks guys :-)

Vans looking good. I'm a joiner n your work looks great. I noticed your braces on back of your cabinets doors tho. Put them from your hinge side up the way to opening side or your doors will still drop out of square. Just trying to help out, hope you don't mind me saying.
@campervibe4 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I don't mind you saying at all, and you're right, an angle brace in compression will always work better than tension, as I have them. However, due to where my hinges are I would have missed one of my slats altogether so in this instance where the doors are incredibly small and very light I think they will hold up just fine, only time will tell I guess. Thanks for watching and always appreciate input 😁👍

Yippeeeeee ! Well done guys ! Quick Q , internal security, for nightime have you gave any thought to that? Easy to make a slip bolt , as in long(ish) threaded bolt not like a bathroom slip bolt. Two ( strong L shaped brackets , secured to van ( obv' not panel tho' ) , one either side of opening, put bolt thru' hole. Quick cheap and simple.
@campervibe4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Pete. Yeh we have, I've already added deadlocks to all 4 doors, I also like to stick a ratchet strap between drivers and passengers door once I'm in it, and for the back our large dog puts most people off. I'm more worried about securing it when we r away from it to be fair, it's next on my list, probably go cctv, tracker and pedal lock I think.

On a very small door of this weight I really don't see it being an issue, in fact after driving it over all kinds of terrain over Europe for the last 3 months they've not moved a mm. Big gates, or doors sure, but when it comes to something like this I don't think we need to really worry about supporting the weight in compression.
