I really think when you are choosing a hair color at a salon, the stylist should offer swatches of hair. This allows both parties to be on the same page about a particular color. Sunlight in a picture can change the hair color drastically. I think something tangible would prove to be more satisfying for the customer. FYI I graduated high school in 1994. Good year.

I never show swatches. I can show the level of darkness swatches, but showing them the swatch and the expectation is THAT EXACT shade. Pictures are so much better, I ask for front and back pic they like and color...like 3 pics. It's a visual profession and a good consultation is imperative.

I have just used the cap. It's agony but it actually works if you get a proper streaking kit and NOT pull the cap off BEFORE you wash the bleached blonde hair you daft fools! You must wash your bleach hair whilst still wearing that bloody cap with the lovely shampoo sachet that comes with the kit. Lots of hairdressers don't actually use caps because it's very time consuming but it does stop 99.9 percent of crap hairdressers from effing up and burning your scalp off. Foils are really hideously dangerous . This guy needs a whig and stop laughing at women.Cheeky lad ❤😂

Q&A: would you ever think of doing tutorials? How to cut a bob that is shorter in the back and longer in the front. Not a hairdresser professional in the least, therefore how do cut to get the outer layers longer then the inner. I understand a bit of point cutting to add blending and layers, is that also normal to cut if you want the hair to curl under in the end. Hope you understand!
@missnperfection98304 жыл бұрын
Angled haircuts can be tricky even for experienced stylists ..I probably wouldn't suggest that you try this as an at home cut..if you can please hold out till your stylist is back in! To answer the question of cutting the hair to curl under is called beveling it can be done using hair shears or a hair razor! I know this is probably not the answer you wanted to hear but it's a super tricky cut due to the angles and graduation you have to follow! Good luck to you..hopefully not too long till everything is opened back up!

I had great results with a highlight cap!! But I made sure to follow the directions about the brushing hair back evenly and putting the cap on neatly. And then I made sure to pull small bits of hair keeping the holes small and tight and I did NOT saturate the cap with bleach, only the hair strands I wanted bleached. But I was also only doing it to slightly lighten those pieces so that when I dyed my roots my regular “dark blonde” (read: light/medium brown to us lay people) and pulled it through to the ends at the end those slightly bleached pieces merely look like lighter brown or darker blonde highlight. I just wanted to add movement and a bit of dimension to my plain old brown hair - what you hairdressers like to call dark blonde 😂 I also found out over the years that the dye I use to cover my stubborn grays is an “NN” meaning double intensity and much darker than a typical color level. I use 7NN and it sure does look like any typical level 6 color.

I used to ironing my hair for years, but I leave it natural and using absolutely no heat about 3 years, I try to use curly hair products, but still there are some pieces that are straight and don't want to curl at all, the only damaging thing i do is dying my hair every two months with a bright red hair dye. Q&A: My hairdresser says I have fine hair but it has a decent amount of 'density', what does this mean and also when I'm looking for hair inspiration do I still need to only look at haircuts for only fine hair? Thanks :)
@shieldmaidenforchrist13103 жыл бұрын
Fine hair=narrow strand, each hair is very skinny. Density is how many hairs you, have, if you have fine hair but good density you have many hairs, but not a tremendous amount.
@moriyarose35873 жыл бұрын
Fine is the texture. Texture is typically described as fine, medium, or coarse. Density is thickness. Hair density is typically described as thin, medium, or thick. Fine hair is typically soft, and is a very narrow strand. The only reason this is confusing is hairdressers tried to be PC decades ago, and thought saying "fine" was better than saying "thin." But in reality, it's just confusing. Fine = texture. Can also be described as soft, smooth, silky... Density = degree of thickness. Contrary to popular thought, it is possible -- and somewhat common -- to have fine, yet medium/thick hair. This is how my hair is, actually. Sounds like yours is fine textured and a medium thickness.

Have you done a porosity test? If not, look that up and find your porosity, then read tips for your hair type. Iv mostly used caps over many years. Either simple plastic or the silicon ones, only maybe twice I’ve ended up with some leopard spots and it was only ever a few spots at front to each side. It was because the holes were ripped or a tad too large and yes the bleach seeped thru too much. It was an easy fix, I simply used a dab of medium brown colour on those spots for literally just a few minutes. It dulls the blonde spot and all blends in fine. I find it really hard using foils to do streaks as I just can’t seem to utilise and get the foils sheets high enough up or to stop from falling down etc. I have very short pixie cut atm and used to have longer hair but still did my own streaks when my hair was long and I’m still doing it now it’s short. There’s always lil mistakes that can occur, iv ended up with blonde being too yellow/orange. I had to redo over a short second time or I used a toner /or mixed with an ash blonde which added a touch of silver grey tone, then of it was still not quite right I’d use LIVE silver toner but leave it off any areas already lighter blonde. If my blonder parts ever turned a tad purplish if simply use a bit on maybe metal grey in with contrition we for a bluish /metal purple blend. I never freak out too much, being short hair you really can just colour it over again and if THAT isn’t quite right , half of your hair will be grown out in 4 weeks. You get it trimmed and before you know it 8 weeks later it’s 3/4 gone. I’m very brave with doing my hair, I’m not like that with ANYTHING ELSE IN MY LIFE lol….strange 😂😵💫😄

Regarding the differenced in color expectations, I think a big part of that is cultural as well. I have (naturally) what I consider light to medium brown hair, while my sister is naturally almost Daenerys Targaryen blonde. In Finland, where I'm from the majority seem to agree with this reading. However in the US I'd be considered blonde as well, hell I've seen hair a shade or two darker than mine called blonde! For reference, my hair is about a level 5-6 and my sister's is a 10, if not lighter. (Fun fact! Different charts gave the same level different names, some charts called a 4 a light brown, another one said the same color for a 7!)

Has to be without, the beard demands to be respected! Also the way he says "don't" had me laughing each time xD

I did cap highlights one time, about 20 years ago. Thankfully my hair is already very light and you couldn't really see it. My hair did turn green several months later for some reason, I think it was the combo of highly chlorinated water and the bleached hair. Had to use swimmer's shampoo.
