You could add some fork pockets on the bottom so you can carry it out and skid logs at the same time. Though you do tend to carry logs with the forks so maybe that isn't worth doing. It was also mess up the height to drop and pick it up. The bolts for grabbing it in the chain slot was brilliant.
@TKCL11 ай бұрын
It has feet on bottom, so I can technically pick it up as is with forks.
@--_DJ_--11 ай бұрын
@@TKCL I was thinking pockets to make it stay on the forks. I've picked up and dropped many things I can technically lift with a set of forks. :)
@mattbroct10 ай бұрын
Maybe a backrest about six feet tall to just leave the rakes most of the time to avoid constant loading…and wheels on back end? Could then wheel it like a hand truck if you have some extra wheels around. Great project, thanks for sharing.
@garny376611 ай бұрын
Nice idea. Now you got me thinking of modifying a tote cage to hook on same way…or make shift carryall then have a “fork” quick hitch. I have a uniforest winch. I’ll have to look at mounting flanges
@TKCL11 ай бұрын
I hear good things about those winches.

Like your idea and plan. When you get tired of trying to line those bolts up try welding in a piece of angle iron flipped over that will sit down in the chain pockets. It will give more strength and more play in alignment. Like your thinking though.
@TKCL11 ай бұрын
I was thinking about this earlier today (the angle iron). I can easily hook this up by hand if needed.
@SetitesTechAdventures11 ай бұрын
This is a cool idea and you gave me an idea. I think I have some scrap metal from the crate my ZTR came in on. I know it had a metal base but I don't recall if the rest was angle. I need to go find that. I picked up a carry all from Tractor Supply some months ago that I haven't finished up yet. Now I have started welding I have been debating if I should weld something together poorly or do the wood style everyone does. Wood is probably the smart idea but seems less fun. I need it for miscellaneous stuff and also to carry a 55 gallon drum for the occasional fire or watering.
@TKCL11 ай бұрын
You're never going to learn welding if you don't at least try. Don't be scared to fail, that's the best teacher.

@HowRay11 ай бұрын
Hey Andrew… Great use of material. Recycle is always good.! Quick question tho…. Noticed how you hook up and lift the carrier. I don’t imagine you have much vertical lift on that 3-point. None of my tractors do. So, won’t the carrier bottom out or drag when crossing low spots on the trails?? As far behind the wheels as it rides, it looks like it might “low center” and possibly detach itself when the carriage bolts ride up in the slots. Just wondering…..??
@TKCL11 ай бұрын
I had a lot of lift left on this tractor. But keep in mind the permanent home for the winch and basket is my much larger tractor. It lifts that winch way off of the ground. I don't expect any problems other than one hill on my trail that I'll avoid.
