I love your moon and moon face! Speaking of moons, when are we getting your moons with faces tier list? I'm curious to know where Mac Tonight and Georges Méliès' moon rank. Aside from the Majora's Mask moon, those are the only two other moons that take up constant real estate in my mind.
@MechanicalFiend3 жыл бұрын
This is very dangerous, they're all too great! Georges Méliès' moon is absolutely at the top and nothing will convince me otherwise. Top tier moon material for sure. The MM and Mac Tonight moons are so opposite in every way that it is difficult to pit them against each other. Let's leave it at they are each wonderful, depending on the situation. In addition, I would probably tack on the Moon Pie moon, which also has a special place in my heart despite not eating Moon Pies. Why did you ask me this? I've now written a full paragraph on moons, nobody wanted this!

what a beautiful project. it's so nice to be able to customize our own things. putting your own mark on something makes it feel so much more yours. a lot of people feel displaced or homesick in their own homes and I think it's because so many of things we buy and decorate our spaces with are impersonal and mass produced. Love the moon sculpting on this - the craters work so well. Also the subtle constellations on the drawer sides are such a nice touch. How do you manage to get your stars so even? Is it patience? I assume it's patience - every time I've tried to do that splatter type mark making it's always a state XD
@MechanicalFiend3 жыл бұрын
Thank you (once again!), this is one of the few I feel the sculpting wasn't a total mess haha! The splatter painting wasn't really too difficult with this, I think it definitely depends on your brush size and what you're working on. Since I was using a pretty small paintbrush, it allows you to control the splatter a lot easier!

3:00 ~I'M BLUE, DA BA DEE DA BA DAA 5:52 omg, I'm currently trying decorating my room in a celestial theme, and have had to make a bunch of crescent moons and they are so hard😭😭 but yours turned out so good!
@MechanicalFiend3 жыл бұрын
Ok, but moons are deceptively difficult to even draw- painting the gold ones onto the box was even hard! I really feel for you for having to make a bunch of them, why are the prettiest things the most difficult to capture haha?
@lonely_snail3 жыл бұрын
@@MechanicalFiend haha, right? I struggled just with a pencil and having many iterations to erase/correct it. You had one shot to paint it and just nailed it, like a pro!
@MechanicalFiend3 жыл бұрын
Definitely wouldn't say I nailed it, the ones on the drawers definitely didn't turn out exactly how I wanted hahaha. But hey, I guess maybe that's a good encouragement to try and let some of the perfectionism go!
