By the way, it doesn't matter whether the chain lube is applied on the outside or the inside of the chain. A) The lube is to keep the O/X/Z rings lubed and supple, in order to retain the grease within the rollers and when the lube is sprayed, it seeps all around the rollers and links. Very little lube is actually required. B) In any case, when the bike is ridden, the rollers rotate around their pins and help the lube to spread. A good understanding of motorcycle chain technology is important. Your point in keeping a piece of cardboard or paper behind the chain is well appreciated, as many people don't realise that while spraying the chain cleaner or the lube, there's a chance of the brake rotor getting some of the spray and thereby causing poor braking.

Wonderful video. Indeed, the suggested way of lubing it is really sensible. I have a question not particularly about this video but about the motorcycle. I am planning to buy one. I have seen recently some videos that the engine has been opened due to some major issues. So the question is, how do you rank this engine out of 10 and have you come across any fault feom the engine. Lastly how many KMs has your motorcycle run.
@SrinivasGanesh
@SrinivasGanesh Жыл бұрын
What were the major issues due to which the engine was opened? If you’ve seen that in some videos then I suppose it is a recurring issue. Could tell me more about the issue? I will be able to better answer your question then. Thank you for your comment.

Hey. Please try the 16t front sprocket. I’ve been rocking it on my GT. The motorcycle seems to be cruising efficiently at triple digits on the highways, with about 250-500 lesser RPM’s. It’ll be an interesting vlog for many to see. As there aren’t many videos on this. Give it a try. It’s a pretty basic mod. But still makes quite a difference. 😊

Great video, but I have a doubt how are you managing to tighten the spokes in rim after the tubeless conversion
@SrinivasGanesh
@SrinivasGanesh Жыл бұрын
Good question. I take it to same place that helped me install the tubeless kit. If the air pressure is decreasing in either tyres frequently, meaning the need to fill the tyres is more than twice in 3 weeks or less then it needs checking. But been more than a year since the need to tighten the spokes, except when there was a wobbling issue and I took it to a local guy and he did tighten them spokes extra ordinarily. Which disturbed the outex tape inside the wheel. Hence it needed a slight repair. So whenever the need to balance the wheel, tighten the spokes, take it to a professional and explain them that there is a tubeless kit inside. Thank you for watching the video.

Hey Srinivas! Thank you for this lovely detailed video! I also had 2 questions. These are 150 section tyres from Timsun if I'm not wrong. Are these available anymore? I'm not able to find any dealers. Also, how has your ride experience been so far? I have a GT & plan on getting a 150 section tyre, but there are mixed opinions about the 130 to 150 section bump up. Thanks again!
@SrinivasGanesh
@SrinivasGanesh 5 ай бұрын
These aren’t available anymore unfortunately. Ride has been amazing. The only and only down side is, while the bike is on centre stand, the tyre touches the ground. Which can be tackled if you park your bike in slight slope. You can see the dedicated video I made on these on the channel.

Great video as always, Sri. Perhaps you could try cleaning the chain with diesel, it supposedly doesn't harm the O-rings in the chain and gives great results. I'm yet to see how the diesel and gear oil method serves me in the long term. Perhaps you could give it a shot and see if that gives better/worse results, and/or optimize maintenance costs! :)

@@SrinivasGanesh Diesel fuel in not a bad degreaser. Kerosene is one of the best, way better then diesel fuel. However, needs to be checked if it doesn't damage the O-rings. As far as I know it doesn't, but not sure about this specific chain. On the other hand, engine oil is a VERY POOR alternative to lube the chain. It's designed to work inside an engine, to withstand high temperature and pressure, not exposed to air so it will attract dirt and dust BIG time, turning quickly into some gunk that will damage your chain. For what it's worth, my advice is to NEVER use engine oil on chains.!
@SrinivasGanesh

@SrinivasGanesh

Though you can, but unless it is a pressure wash, it is alright. The lube sticks to the chain. And does not come off with a simple wash. foam Unless you scrub it off. Another advantage/ indication of knowing when to re-lube is when the chain is not white anymore. Thank you for watching!

@SrinivasGanesh
@SrinivasGanesh Жыл бұрын
This is new issue. Have you tried getting in touch with the technicians at Royal Enfield? What did they have to say about this? Chain and brakes are on the opposite sides of the motorcycle. One shouldn't affect the other. Are your brakes making a screeching sound? If that is the case then try wiping the discs with a cloth dipped in a standard soap solution. That should take care of the problem. Do let me know if this helped you or not. Thank you for watching the video.

Hey Sri . Just went for a ride which was bit off roading and my interceptor has started wobbling issue which was not earlier . Now I have been following you since long and wanted to change tyres to Timsun . In your opinion should I check for wobbling issue first or it will resolve after changing tyres ..Just did 8K on odo. P.S. I have seen your video on wobbling issue ..want your opinion on tyres and size to go for it ( where to get it ,which size to upgrade and tyre pressure for that specific brand ) Thanks in advance. Regards
@SrinivasGanesh
@SrinivasGanesh Жыл бұрын
Hi, It is always easier and cheaper to do any alternative as opposed to changing tyres. If any of the solution works for you then great! If not, then you know for sure what the issue is. This way the issue might be resolved and you won't have to change the tyres. So a win win situation in my opinion. Btw, Interceptor is not a an ADV motorcycle :P if it was, then it would have been branded as such. I have Timsun 659As installed. I got them from Torqueblock.com. The max size you can go for is 160mm at the rear and 120mm in the front, without making any adjustments. 150 seems decent enough to me. The tyre pressure on these tyres is something which is adjusted when riding solo or with a pillion. If with a pillion then it is 39 in the front and 42 at the rear. If solo, then 39 at the rear and 36 at the front. I hope this helps.
