Periodic maintenance of Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 | Buffing

I have recently completed 75,000 km on my RE Interceptor 650.This video is about how do I maintain my Interceptor 650,basic tips and tricks to maintain the motorcycle including buffing , polishing the tank, chain lubing etc.

Your Inty is loaded. Just a suggestion, apply all the cleaners (sprays) before washing and apply lube, polish, wax after 👍🏼

A job well done and fantastic maintenance. Need your help for the following - 1> I have read some place that WD40 is not good for rubber parts like the one inside the fuel cap. Isn't it better to use silicone polish for rubber parts/Indicator stalks/Speedometer. 2> Please let me know how to avoid getting rust on chrome exhaust in the long run. 3> How to clean the front shockers[the exposed steel part before the shocker sleeve] . 4>Which type of pressurized grease to be used for wheel bearings, especially during Monsoons. 5>How to clean the Water drainage near the Fuel inlet without inserting a wire into it. 6>How to maintain the battery terminals.

I am using WD 40 only for lock sets not for rubber parts. But if it comes in contact with rubber parts, I dont think it will damage in a large extent.I am using it for more than 4 years on my Interceptor. Rusting on bend pipe is a major issue.You cant avoid permanently unless you replace it with stainless bend pipes. Fork pipe cleaning i am not using any special cleaning agents.Just car washing shampoo. Greasing the bearings are done at local mechanic. I use nylon thick wire to clean the Fuel tank water drainage pipe Battery terminal usually cleaned by my local mechanic

@Zuputmer , white buffing powder ,generally used at RE for buffing engine casing. I dont know the exact name of that.I got it from RE service centre upon request.

@@gadgetwheelz ah i just did a little bit of research and I think it might be aluminium oxide powder. Commonly used to polish metals, gives a mirror like finish! Will try it out

Hey man! Looking to get the Shine X pro foam sprayer! Seeing many negative reviews online, what has been your experience? Worth it? Is the quality good? Or should I go for the IK foam sprayer?

Dont buy Shine X Pro. Though the quality is good, spray is not effective after few usage. Try something else.

I haven't faced that issue. If fuel tank cap gasket is in good condition then no need to worry IMO.

Those are from RE , you can get it from RE Service centre or RE genuine spare parts sellers. These alloys for Interceptor and GT, so no need any modifications, it is a direct fit

@@gadgetwheelz but the guys at RE said that we cannot sell alloys for the older interceptor model as it did not come with alloys . I found this justification very silly . Then they said you should go for aftermarket alloys.hiw strange is that ?

That's very silly...try at some other RE service center,otherwise better try at RE genuine spare parts shop.

Thanks...They are stock alloys (Size:18)made for Interceptor/GT 650 by RE. No difference in riding compare to stock spokes wheels

I use RE Liquid Gun during servicing at RE Service center. Motul 10w50 if I change at local garage.Never tried any other engine oil. Important factor is you should change engine oil on every 5-6k kms intervals.
