How can you ensure you put it back at 79.9 lb-ft if you’re using regular wrench ? Or did you use a torque wrench with an 18mm socket for the axle nut?

Glad I came across this. I've got a 2019 Z900 in Amarillo.

@@HilltopZombieShop you know it! A group of us rode out to the overlook a few weekends ago. (Since the weekends are in the 60's/70's followed by bone chilling snow flurries during the week.) When we got back, I noticed threads showing on my rear tire. (Stock, got 4500 miles out of it so it was due.) Bought a tire at David Brown's but everyone wanted around $80 to change it. I watched your video and one or two others and saved myself $40 by removing the rear wheel myself. (Sharp's motorsports charged me $44 for changing and balancing tire only) . Took about 15 mins to get off and 15 to reinstall. Cleaned the chain in the process and set it to the proper tension thanks to you. Thanks for saving me $40!

Hello. After these two years of the video, did you continue using kerosene and gear oil? Did the chain last long? Does it splash a lot when riding the bike? I'm asking why most recommend using specific spray cleaners and lubricants but here in Brazil they are quite expensive.

I’m still using kerosene and gear oil. No negative effects. The gear oil throws a little off at first but not much.

Most manufacturers recommend using kerosene to clean chains.

Step #2: Put a large sheet of cardboard under the work area so you don't get ***** all over the garage floor or pavement. Also, change out those nasty front pegs. (ew) ;) .

gear oil works great for lubrication but is absolutely horrible for fling off and it attracts a ton of debris from the road. I recommend a motorcycle specific chain lube or chain wax or something that dries decently. otherwise excellent video and thoroughness, you obviously take care of your machine!
