DIY Chick Brooder - With Removable Tray

I thought I would share my chick brooder design. It's something function but also looks good. Well at least I think so anyway! It has a pull out tray for easy removal of chicken waist. Do you find the volume to low in the video? Messing with a new mic.

Seems a little bit low. It's all good, that is why we have volume knobs :) Great video! Might need to build one of these for my next batch of chicks...been using a garden box planter with a lid lol

I thought about adjustable feet but wanted to keep it simple. Thanks for the comment. How was the sound?

@@hagonshomestead Adjustable feet would be a good idea. I might look into that as well. I too like to keep it simple because I tend to overthink things too much. The sound was fine, just a little low so I turned up the volume. I didn't hear any strange noises that I can remember, just low volume.

Adjustable feet dont seem to be to costly so I may order some. Good to know about the sound. I will bump it up a little next time. Been getting used to a new mic. Pics are not my friend!

Thanks for this video. I am trying to get ideas on a chick brooder. I've been using a tarp and an amazon $35 brooder for many sets of new chicks for 6 years. Time to build a more durable option!

Sorry for the delay, thanks, this brooder is really good. The only changes we made since then is lowing the tray at the bottom by an inch and a half as it can catch their toes when pulling it out and we added wood around the openings blocking in the tray so nothing comes out the sides.
