Thank you so much! It came out great for me! A tip for others: do your first couple of clouds somewhere that won't be seen as much until you get the hang of it.

Looks great, exactly the tutorial I needed for our nursery. I would say the blue paint didn't look well mixed but perfect job overall.

what colors would you recommend if my wall is white?

What color blue did you use?

Thanks so much for this video. If my walls are not painted with satin finish (it’s matte), do you still recommend using satin finish paint for the clouds, or should it be the same finish as my original background wall paint?

Hi Beca, That was amazing. Thank you. I have a question. I want to try this in the nursery room but I'd like to use a light taupe instead of blue. so I would obviously paint the wall with my base color and then the clouds would be white and taupe? or white and gray? What do you think?
@becacastel897811 ай бұрын
Hi @fitgirlyz8339 Thank you for watching the video! Great question. There are different shades of taupe. Some lean more toward gray, and others lean more toward beige. Sometimes, the taupe has a hint of blue. I recommend using the same base color of the walls with white for the clouds. You want the clouds to look airy and that they blend with the wall. If you use gray taupe, you might run into a "stormy" or muddy cloud look...which I doubt is something that you want. The only exception would be if the gray taupe is light and has a touch of blue, then go for it. If not, then lean towards the light beige taupe colors. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Your paint looks a lot thinner than mine. Did you thin it out so it moves easily?

@becacastel89782 жыл бұрын
Hi Lily! Thank you for asking, so I can clarify. It "looks" like pink initially but when you shake it and mix it up, it turns to the blue that you see on the wall.

NO WAY!!! It's too easy, that's coming from a guy who can't draw stick people! I'm gonna take some white paint I have and add a small bit to the blue I did the walls with. I might even do a couple lighter shades. I wonder how it would look using a complimentary color? (Wall is dark blue, something like Terracotta (because I have a whole gallon sitting there)

Why house paint rather than interior paint
@becacastel89783 жыл бұрын
When I say "house paint" I mean interior wall paint lol . It is much better to paint with on a wall, than regular acrylic paint. Regular acrylic paint will chip on the wall eventually. They are made to be used on porous surfaces such as a canvas not on wall. This is why I always use "house/wall paint" for my murals. Thank you for your question!
@brittanybarker42684 жыл бұрын
Also what color was the house paint you used? I’ll probably do my wall main color a shade lighter than the blue you chose.
@becacastel89784 жыл бұрын

@@becacastel8978 The” after the rain blue” is that the color blue of the wall or the accent color you used to make the clouds! Excellent tube!
@becacastel89783 жыл бұрын
@@debbiebarca7351 The clouds are just a normal white sample paint but I mixed it with the "after the rain blue" on the edges. This way it helps the white seamlessly fade and blend with the blue color background.
