Wood glue bonds within the fibers of the wood, making it a stronger bond that other types of fasteners. I have a pile of barn wood I so need to do a project with. I’m in love with this. Your hard work pays off.

The wood glue! That’s exactly what I was wondering about, so I really appreciate you for explaining! At first I was wondering if Rachel chose glue because didn’t want to create unnecessary holes in the beautiful old wood. But after reading your post, it makes total sense. Thanks so much!

@@LivingtoDIYwithRachelMetz Wooooohoooooo! I didn’t know the general public could get stuff like that until my brother suggested it for our shop. Just picked up a bunch of pins that emptied out on the floor with that thing rather than sweeping or bending over to get each one. Once I got into diy I loved going to the hardware store and just walking around looking at doodads for future projects. Some how I got on a catalog list of hardware and drooled over that thing like it was the Sears Catalog from 1900! 😆 I love how excited and pleased you are with yourself...it’s incredibly empowering to be a maker.

I think I will never be over the weathered wood. You really can't buy that anywhere, and no two pieces are the same, it looks so unique and in general I'm obsessed with natural wood and I'm so here for the weathered wood look! I also think it's amazing that throughout your home you have so many awesome pieces of reclaimed wood cause even when it's a really different piece, like a literal ceiling versus a coffee table, it ties together throughout the whole property and that's so cool!! I'm really really digging your style, I absolutely love it. Also can I just say the way those legs fit into that tabletop is magic to me, I get how it works now that I see it but I would have probably so overtought it if I had to do it, it would have been ridiculous. I'm so hyped for the next episode! Also, how big is your little boy??? Love seeing your pups in your videos, they're so sweet and lovely and it warms my heart to see how happy and loved they are. Crazy how fast he's growing!

I love it! It's that simple I just love it! And I am so excited every time I see you post a video to see what you're going to do next, and that really comes from following you for a long time and knowing as well as I can who you are, what you've been through and what other spaces and rooms and homes that you have done DIYs and redecorated. It is just so awesome to know and see that this is all"JUST FOR YOU!!!" ( And those sweet puppies of course!!!) But anybody that has not been following you long enough I just hope they go back and watch previous videos and just know that this is about you. This is your journey to your first U-Home!! And it just makes me so excited to see your videos and so happy to see what you're going to do next and to see you work on such an amazing property that you've gotten there in the desert.... I'm just so stinking proud of you!!!!! And I think the coffee table is amazing The way that you created joinery for the legs and the kind of wood you used all of it I think is worth a lot more than anything you could buy at restoration hardware whether it cost $5,000 or $0 😍❣️😇❣️🔥❣️💯🔥❣️💥💯❤️❤️❤️❣️

Maybe this will help you next time so I'll leave it here: to unbend the wood, you can put it inside of plastic and use vapor so it gets swollen and more malleable. While it's malleable, put it in between wood and clamps so it gets straight! It's an easy fix! Just take the top and use the vapor! Ask Mike to help you if you need to! You are amazing and I'm really happy you're living your life and making it as you like ❤️
