Yeah I think it's just common that you have to snap the one tab. Otherwise I don't know how you get the darn things off.

Great Video! Two questions...What was you reason for using the primer over the plastic adhesion promoter? Also did you end up painting your mirror caps as well to match your truck?

I called the company and they told me the primer was what I should use. Possibly the plastic adhesion might have been better but you can't tell. The mirror caps were done with black plastidip. Super durable and still looks perfect.

So its been almost two years. I saw you commented that it held up fine for a year and then a few months later you said paint was starting to crack. What is the status now?

No change really. They haven't chipped just shows cracks.

Have you painted any other parts? I just bought a 2020 in Agate Black and it has the Chrome Appearance Pkg and I am not a fan of chrome, so I want to paint all the chrome pieces also.

I will admit I'm getting a little cracking in the handles. So I'm glad I haven't done the bumpers yet. Now is it the paint that didn't hold up or my technique that was wrong? IDK

@@WillMosbey ok. Thanks for the update! I know plastic can be tricky to paint. I plan on painting my bumpers soon. Hopefully it will hold because it’s actually metal.

I would not recommend painting chrome or "chromed" plastic. If you want to paint door handle covers buy plastic ones that are not simulating a chrome finish then scuff sand,clean,prime ,paint and clear cost. Keep the coats thin. When painting Chrome bumpers DONT...Best thing is to have them blasted then powder coated.

I dont see an option for step 1 and step 2 base coats, did you just buy two cans of base coat? Theyre also out of that clear coat ... sad times gonna have to improvise.

I can't remember if there were 2 base coats. I just followed the directions. I believe my box came with 4 cans.
