Love this! When I made one of my own I made little "holders" for pencils and such by gluing ribbon on the lid in like a half moon shape.

Your mini watercolor kit really inspired me . I ordered the ice trays and went to work. Now I have a fully functional kit,complete with 16 colors , pencil , 3 little brushes a napkin, kneaded eraser, a tiny container of water 5 little pieces watercolor paper. It fits perfectly in my purse next to my mini Waldorf doll kit. Never a boring moment when I stuck having to wait somewhere. Thanks so much for posting!

You can also stick half pans into the tin using glue dots... which are fairly easy to remove to change colours.....

I like the silicone mini ice tray idea. If you're interested, there are mint tins that have white enamel on the inside. They are called St. Claire's Organics. I buy the lemon tarts. There are other flavors. They are enameled with white both under the lid and in the main compartment. Under the lid there is some black text, but that doesn't get in my way. The bottom is just white. It's wonderful to have the white enamel already on the inside, and not have to put a liner in. stclaires.com/organic-sweet-candy/f1-lm.html Nice little tins too!

yes, they do. just make sure when placing watercolour in the cubes that it is touching all sides, it will dry nicely. :) x

Instead of the ribbon, you could also use elastic braid tape. You could fold the braid in to a loop, glue that onto the paper, close the tin so that the braid sticks out of the tin, and use the braid as a pencil holder. photo.oempromo.com/Prod_915/Leuchtturm-Pen-Loop_6267454.jpg Also, instead of the tissue paper, you could use a "rectangle" foundation sponge. It will rest perfectly over the paper. You could even cut it so that you could fit more stuff next to it. A lot of artist use hot glue, clay, or putty to make those mini pans but this silicone mini ice tray is so much better. Thank you. I have to try this.
