DIY construction of concrete speakers / first experience and mistakes
Hello! I decided to try making a concrete speaker with my own hands.
didn’t work very well:
- the shape is curved, the edges are not clear
- broke the concrete near the speakers
Any experience is helpful !!!
I'll make a new, stiffer shape and angled speaker holes.
I wonder what will happen next time?

Nice first attempt. Sure you will know what to do better next time. Better the mold better the outcome. Plexiglass is an excellent material for the forms. Gives you super nice and smooth finish. Keep going at it!!! Cheers Mate!!!

A slight angle on the woofer former's plus a little wax would have made the former's come out easier but I'm sure you know this now. Also a little more tolerance to allow for fitting the woofers next time. All in all, not bad for a First run. filler would also work well for the odd blemish if you plan to paint them anyway. 👍

I will not paint. probably with concrete varnish. wax applied. thanks for the advice

Maybe use a concrete vibrator. We use them at work Dewalt cordless uses 18v rechargeable. You could try it with the 2aa battery type also🤣. Maybe use plaster reinforced with glass fiber or somekind of other type of fiber instead of concrete. I think they used plaster instead of concrete in a old speaker called Rauna of Sweden but I might be mistaken

And always try to avoid straight edges. It's always a pain in the ass. Use modeling clay, you know the wax stuff they sell in toy shops to make a radius on the corners

Была такая идея сделать полочники из бетона, то опалубку надо более жесткую и с отверстиями думать. А так идея рабочая но есть нюансы.

купил на авито б.у.шные динамики, строю колонки.посмотрите, скажите, кто что думает, может что новое узнаю. думаю пассивки влепить, никак не приедут(((

Зря несъемную опалубку выламывал. Лучше бы оставил на месте, кроме отверстий под динамики. Еще посмотри на сколько хорошо проводят звук камень, бетон и металл.

Кстати можно было залить сразу с дном, закрепив между собой опалубки мелкой распоркой и приделав дно после заливки.

Конечно, использовать строительные гипсы, тем более армированные, религия не позволяет... А уж обрабатывать их чем либо, для долговечности - это вообще кощунники только делают... Анафема!

сначала изготовление. потом прослушка. А есть типы, суюд динамики везде и бабло с просмотров рубят. пока дно не залил еще, времени нет. Сравню с МДФ потом
