I would have thought that you would have wanted the probe to sense the heat of the air not the heat of your heating mat. Am I wrong? How did it work out for you? did you change anything since the video was made?
@12gauge442 жыл бұрын
It worked out perfect. Hatched 8 clutches with it so far and planning to use it again this coming season. I should have mentioned I have a thermometer and hygrometer (accurite) sitting on the rack to read the humidity and air temp. The probe needs to be on the heat tape to keep it a constant temperature. I adjust it based off what the accurite said and got it dialed right in.

I'm glad it worked good for you brother but u are not correct on the probe placement in the incubator. In a rack your way is right. U want the probe on the heat tape in the middle section of the rack but in the incubator u want the probe free floating from one of the middle shelves . Not meaning to tell u how to do your stuff but there is room for error the way you have it set up. Not trying to be mean at all just wanting to help out since that is what this hobby should be about. I have done plenty of things wrong and luckily I had people help me out before something bad happened. The incubator looks amazing though. Great job bringing that old cooler back to life for something else.

How are you getting an accurate temp with the probe right on the heat tape?
@12gauge44 Жыл бұрын
The probe is always supposed to be on the heat tape to control the temperature it generates. You may need to raise it a few degrees to get the entire incubator at the temp needed. This will be my 3rd year using this incubator with no complaints.
@wallyodom8254 Жыл бұрын
@12gauge44 I've never used a heat tape before I just figured it would be like conventional heating where the probe is out away from the source when you have air circulation
@12gauge44 Жыл бұрын
@@wallyodom8254 I have a secondary temp gauge that measures the air temp. The thermostat probe is on the tape just to keep it consistent
