A very elegent little spoon. I love the facets left in place from the hammering.

Thank you. Edges give a lively style to this little spoon.

There are some abused anvils on youtube, but that one has to be the worst I've seen. Love the scoop, and you've shown that it doesn't require a spoon making kit fhat some people are selling.

Personally I like the anvil. Shows character.

How do you know what size diameter to start with? Looking to make some measuring spoons for the house but having a hard time finding what diameter correlates to each size measuring spoon. Also, awesome work!

I've been thinking about this myself. The math would be to convert the measurement (say 1 tablespoon) in to milliliters, then use the radius of your ball bearing to calculate the size of the dome you need to fill that, then you calculate the surface area of that dome, and the size of a circle with the same area. Cut the circle slightly larger, then once you have the cup made, fill it with water and transfer it to a known tablespoon sand it down until you get the exact measurement.

very cool work, I really like the spoon and your video is enjoyable to watch...It looks like you don't do hotwork on the anvil , that table has seen some action ..very cool to see you using it anyway
@addforging Жыл бұрын
Thank you. I work on it almost every day. Hot forging is present on it. I make octopus handles, forged blanks, belt buckles, stainless steel products (kitchen spatulas, tongs, hooks, spoons, forks) practically everything. On this anvil it is good to straighten products. Even important details in the plane are straightened through this anvil.

may i ask you what type of solder did u use? i ve tried copper solder but gray color seam appeared not like your spoon which is totally in copper color even after soldering...
@addforging Жыл бұрын
Solder is visible at the place of soldering, it is a darker spot, the color is gray graphite. You may need to change the solder. I have copper-phosphorus solder. Lost a label somewhere while moving.

Do you make these to order please. I'd be interested in at least one of a particular size, with possibility for more of identical size if you wanted.
