Max & I had a plain corner in our house that we didn't notice at first, but after living here for a few months, we decided it needed something. Of course, that "something" became a reading nook!
After a trip to World Market where we picked up a Papasan chair, the project began. I started collecting inspiration on Pinterest & getting really excited about transforming this small space into something magical!
We had a simple bookshelf that the previous owner of our home left behind. It needed some love for sure. It was scratched up and some of the finish had come off already. I sanded it down & painted it a sage green (Muted Sage by Behr). I didn't even seal it with anything! Two coats of paint was all it took for the bookshelf to look new again :)
I made some custom artwork in Canva for the walls. I wanted a funny saying & was stuck between three - "I'd Rather Be Reading", "The Book Was Better", and "One More Chapter". We went thrift shopping for the frames & I found a piano lamp at the thrift store too!
This was such a simple project & it added so much personality and coziness to this space in our home! I love being able to display my books instead of having them stored away in an old dresser :) The chair is seriously the BEST for reading. Highly recommend.
