Your videos speak to my heart the person you are brings a kindness and gentleness to my life that i only realize is missing when i see your new videos pop up. Friendly note, spiders are an important part of nature, but I hate finding them in my house too, so maybe consider the glass and paper technique to toss them outside. I've got about a dozen Little Free Libraries within walking distance of my house (including our own!) and I know where each one is by heart although we do keep a list of addresses, which we print copies of to put in ours. It's so fun finding new ones we didn't know about. One of them is built into the stump of a tree and it has a cute little roof on it and a small door in the side where a gnome lives. Also...you are allowed to take more than one book you know. You didn't have to leave Despereaux behind if you wanted it.

Desi, I saw one of your videos "Books to Read if You Love Jane Austen." I loved that you LOVE Jane Austen. I totally love Jane, too! I'm not sure if you'd see my comment under the Jane video, so I decided to put it here. First, congratulations on your upcoming move to the UK! I’m a huge nerd and Jane Austen fan. I decided to read all six of Jane's books this last summer. I just absolutely love the characters. I decided to write a song about a character from each novel, turning it into a six-song EP album. I wanted to give it a twist. I decided to only use instruments that existed during the Regency Era. I called the album "Love, Jane." I didn't shoot for a genre, but my mom said that it seems like a mix between classical music and pop! I have actually been invited to perform at Chawton House on Jane Austen’s birthday this December! I don’t have the money to fly to the UK from San Diego, but will be performing on Zoom. I’m so excited! In the meantime, I'm reaching out to Jane Austen fans one-at-a-time, trying to get some attention for the album. Yeah, I'm broke from paying to have it produced, so I'm basically knocking on doors, shaking people by their shoulders, saying, "Hey, can you listen to my album!" Ha, ha. Such a lovely video!! If you haven’t read Witch if Blackbird Pond…and it’s still in the library….i think you would really enjoy it! It has a bit of mystery, a strong heroine, and also long passages about making candles/other old timey crafts and chores!

From the Mixed Up Files was one of my very favourite books when I was growing up, and I still have it. You will love it!! Also, the nook is absolutely gorgeous. I love how it came together. You have a knack for cozy and getting the cottagecore vibe just right, especially with the books and art. Seeing the space come together was so lovely!! Even your Brooklinen ad was so good. I've wanted to get their sheets forever, but I just don't have it anywhere close in the budget right now. These videos just make me so happy. Thank you for being so YOU, so good at what you do, and helping people like me get through our day. xo

Love the cute cozy corner! Since you rent what are your renter friendly tips for creating this corner?

I actually think it can be done super easily! The wallpaper we used is simple peel and stick wallpaper, so it peels off just like a sticker. To attach the wooden wall panels we just used velcro command strips (again, super easy!) and to hang the photos we again used velcro command strips. We could take everything down in 20 minutes top and have pretty much zero sign that anything was there 👌🏻
