you could save a bit of time by getting long pieces of ribbon and cutting just entire continuous strips on the labels and line them up on the ribbon and apply that way. then you can roll up the strips and keep them in a jar. cut off the label from the roll as needed. this can prevent frating if you do end up using material that frays:)

@@charlimarieTV Hello loved your video. But is there a short cut way to do all of this to save time? Let's say example I get a blank t shirt how can I go upon quickly adding the labels? Is there any 'done for you' system or some device which I can tag it on there like a stapler type device?
@emailnolongerinuse31577 жыл бұрын
If youre willing to spend a little bit of money you can go online and make a custom stamp with your logo. Dont get a self inking one, get just a plain rubber stamp with your logo. then use fabric dye as the ink for the stamp. Put it on a small rectangle of fabric and then sew it in the shirt. i found this one fades but the stamping doesn't

Is covering the label of the original brand with your own legal? I'm starting off my own "brand" and trying to sort out legalities..thanks
@charlimarieTV7 жыл бұрын
+Dorian Sirju yep as far as I know! But look into the legalities of what information must be shown. I cover the brand label not the manufacturing information.
@Key_11117 жыл бұрын
It is legal. When you take a mass prduced item and revamp it it's recreating something so it's legally yours. It would be illegal to just attach your label to the original design and call it yours.
@Reallythere543217 жыл бұрын
Dorian Sirju yes it's legal my friend is a lawyer who clarified it
@potatopewpew47196 жыл бұрын
It would be better to just sew in your own label and remove the original one. That looks more professional in my opinion.

ah this is so cool!! does it come off after a few washes or does the last step of ironing it down seals it in place?

it will wear off eventually as it is only a transfer, but the higher quality transfer paper you use the longer it will last :)
@thatkansasgirl1347 жыл бұрын
Charli, just wanted to say I love your channel and have learned a lot of great tips for starting my own t shirt company! I do have a question regarding the transfer paper you used: if you peel off the backing after ironing, does it leave a white square where there was no design? I am using white ribbon, but I wasn't sure if there was an option to choose a clear transfer paper or if you knew of anything like that? Thanks for your help, and keep posting this great content!
@charlimarieTV7 жыл бұрын
great question! some transfer paper is 'clear' and some is white, and it should say on the package. the one I linked in the description is clear. In saying that though, you can still see the outline of the square, more in texture than in colour if that makes sense! as it's slightly shiny. it's not very noticeable though, but it's the reason why I only use transfer paper for labels and not for printing the design itself.

Thanks for the help! :)

Hello, I love the video. If you don't mind me asking, instead of transferring onto herringbone cotton or whatever it was that you used, would it work on coated polyester? Also, is it permanent? Does it fade over time? Thank you! : )
@charlimarieTV8 жыл бұрын
+DJ Brook I'm not sure about the fabric sorry, would recommend testing! And yes it does fade over time, but if you get the high quality transfer paper I link in the description it will last much longer!

Isn't so much time consuming? Why don't you use screen printing for serial work like this? For my own brand I made a RUBBER STAMP ( I asked the stationary shop to make one automatic one, like the ones you use in the office), so I can stamp directly on the herringbone cotton tape. The result is very "handmade-look" and I love it . Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm and suggestions! Have a nice day!
