Tbh I feel you get more tickets with these things vs without… I haven’t had one of these for over a decade, the only time I get a speeding ticket are those stupid camera speed light ones in Chicago. I can’t wait until Tesla starts supporting that in their gps…

You're probably right. I use it more for road trips than around town. The benefit of this guy is that it can be taken down in seconds. And I'm with you on the Chicago cameras. 😅

The Cybertruck's tonneau cover are often in the closed position. Have you noticed if this affects the radar detector’s ability to pick up signals from the rear?

To be honest, I haven't put a ton of thought or attention to it. My cover is almost always closed. I haven't noticed it, miss any. But a lot of cops are using radar. Which my director doesn't pick up.

Yes. Those are transformed down.

Do you have to press power or do anything when you get in the truck, or is it automatically set to detect radar once you get into the truck and power up automatically when you get in. Or do you got to mess with it at all??

The power is tied to the "start up" on the truck. It's comes in when I get in and touch the break. It goes off when the screen shuts down. I never turn it off and on.

Hey. I mention it briefly towards the end. Its on when the car is on. It turns off when your car goes to sleep. It comes back on when you hit the brake.

Does it fit pretty flush in the stock rear-view mirror space/hole?

Yes. The base of the mount fits in the hole the mirror vacated. It's a little concave, so it's not really flush. But it doesn't stick out. If anything, it's recessed.

I couldn't understand what radar you said that is doesn't not pick up? Does it pick up most of the radar that cops use?? Thanks

My particular model detects actually radar. Some cops are using newer laser speed detection. Some models detection laser, but mine does not. However, in order to detect lasers, you have to be in its literal path. This means it probably senses you at the same time, so don't help much.

I think he mentioned to say laser not radar… if the police tag you with the laser , your busted if you are going at excessive speeds. LASER is so fast if you get tagged with it your done. Some companies do make laser jammers, but I think laser jammers are illegal. But check your individual state laws.

Got my detector installed... i have the app autopower set to OFF.... but it's not going off automatically when car shuts down?? Any advise? Thx.

Interesting. I'm honestly not sure. Mine shuts off every time. I didn't change any settings that I know of from the default settings. I guess I'm not sure at what point it shuts off. I just see it come on every time I open the door.

I think when the car is parked “Long” enough, it will go to “sleep” and power down all accessories to save power drain. so wait long enough to see if it’ll go to sleep and your raider text should also go to sleep.
