Curious as to how you addressed the 2/6 conrod oil issue concerning the bearings. You upgrading the camshaft chain tensioners to the S4 type? And with the lower compression pistons, super or turbo charging in the near future?

Attention to detail is the key 🔑 for sure Dan,there would be more 928’s on the road with your approach✅

Hi Edwin, my 928 video series wasn't well received from the viewers on youtube (views & likes) so I have decided not to continue with it and focus my time on other projects that are more popular with the viewers. I will do a final video when the car is all done. Sorry.

When is part 5?
@DIYDanCars6 жыл бұрын
Probably spring time? Honestly I didn't think many people cared for the series judging by the likes so it's been getting the back seat treatment.

928s are satisfying to work on

That's because there are very few people who can actually work on them. ;)

This is interesting cause I have my uncle's 1985 928 that I'm trying to bring home and restore and this video is useful for me. I'm not planning to rebuild the motor, but the fact you can surprises me. Not exactly a car with parts that can be easily found.

Good luck with your uncles 85' 928S. 928's are very cool cars!

Thanks, I just gotta get it running reliable and drive it 3 hours home, and the car had been sitting outside in the sun with no cover for over 10 years. Piece of cake.

Trailer it back! At the very least timing belt, water pump, and fuel lines should be done. I would also check thrust bearing play. It's too much to do in a weekend for a 1st timer. Good luck!

That's the plan so far. But I want to be able to move it to the trailer and I plan to install a tow hitch on my Jeep. Woah, this car has a timing belt? Is this a non interference engine? That is definitely now on the top of my list once I get it home. Does the thrust bearing tend to get lose on this engine? You're starting to scare me now.
@DIYDanCars6 жыл бұрын
Yes, it has a very long timing belt and when it breaks say good bye to all of those valves (interference engine). Too risky to start in my opinion without a full belt service. Just get a couple of guys to push it on the trailer until you can bring it home and give it a proper service.
