They were a solid feeling car that made you want to cruise at 125mph all day long. The engine was as smooth as a glass pool table. They were muted, but the exhaust note was lovely. The 911 is the reason. The 928 intended plan was to replace the 911 in it's entirety. As sacrilegious as it sounds to the car enthusiast, Porsche did that before with the 356 (replaced by the 911 and 914) and times were getting harder with the oil crisis. The thing is the 80's happened and the 911 was extended "indefinitely" which became a problem once this and the 924 started to sag in sales. They were met with an axe in the 90's. From all that know about it, the 928 isn't a bad car by any stretch. It's just the black mark on the Porsche line for attempting to be rid of the 911.

It will and it has already started. The 928 was a marvel of a car way ahead its time and at the time lightyears ahead of the 911 that had its roots in the beetle. It was however so completely different to the 911 and that just didnt work with the old porsche crowd. The modern 911 is very much the 928 of today. A comfortable GT. I sure wish Porsche would try to reinvent themselves again like with the 928. I think the 911 as a concept is finished. They need something new and refreshing. Finally, someone giving the 928 the proper engineering it needed. I've always been a fan of the platform that made up the 928 but it needed someone in the design team to make it a great car. They were on the right track with the 928S4, a very close friend of my father, Marvin received one as a Christmas gift from his wife and he had bought her a race horse. You could say they had a little bit of money. The S4 was a great car but, then production ended before Porsche would take that to the next level which is what we have here in this restomod. They did what should have been done from the factory or maybe RUF or Singer. But, too many Porsche Club purists and just enthusiasts never liked the 928 so there was no aftermarket need or desire to modify the 928. There just wasn't anyone who wanted to do it properly and spend the money and time. That is proven by this build. Everything had to be made from homemade design because there are no aftermarket upgrade parts for 928 cars. I like what the car looks like and am only disappointed that it wasn't driven.

Drool. My friend had one, so I am very familiar with this car. I agree that the front was too long and the rear too short - he nailed the proportions. This one looks lower, wider and more aggressive but retains that clean look, Porsche mastered in the 928. I think the light cluster, especially the parking lights are bit busy where many parts of the car are cleaned up, but the proportions and wheels look fabulous to me. The interior is rather spartan, I get that it's intentionally so, but isn't distasteful, by any stretch. Love the new glass all throughout and he did a fantastic job cleaning the lines up. It still looks like a 928, and if you weren't familiar with the original, you'd be hard pressed to tell what was changed - that's how subtle it is. The price is steep - would like to know what parts were replaced. Sounds like a lot of work, though. Would I trade this for a Singer if I had the beans to purchase one? Not sure about that!

Not my favorite Porsche model but this restomod is AMAZING! The wheels make it feel very modern.

Amazing concept and such a clean Interior! So refreshing with something else than a 911 Restomod. However vid lacked some figures, such as BHP, number of gears etc. Eagerly awaiting...

Fantastic ! Can’t wait to see it in other colours too so we can see more of the lines.

All the consulting, all the one-off pieces (over 3000) and the interaction with 3rd-party vendors - not to mention the NRE and in-house labor, is amazing. Whether anyone likes the car or not, I could not imagine producing this for what they are charging.

I really like that shade of blue, hits the car perfect!

As a little kid, I used to see a 928 in my neighborhood. It was my favorite "super car" for a while, heh. I still like how it looked, tbh. Wish Porsche would have done more with it instead of how everything they have basically looks the same now.
