Wow, this is the BEST diesel heater video I’ve seen and is exactly what I’m looking for. Thanks for sharing!

This is exactly what I was looking for to mount my diesel heater to my roof rack.

This is what I was looking for! Great job. Can you give a hint what kind of fuel tank you installed?
@GrizzlyPath2 күн бұрын
It came with a big flat 10L tank, but I replaced it with a smaller rectangular 5L one that fits inside.

Hey dude, I would love a link to buy one of these from you for a 4th gen/2004 4runner. You said you were coming out with one? Thanks!

Oh gosh I never planned on producing these sorry. There are a few companies now who make similar ones I think!

Great looking set up….is there any concern with mud/dirt kicked up onto it when traveling?
@GrizzlyPath9 ай бұрын
Great question! Since this video I have made some 3D printed caps to help cover all the ports, that being said I didn’t really have any issues with mud/dirt ingress into anything. To be fair though, I’ve only used it in more wintertime conditions- snow and rain, so I wasn’t kicking up mud. I think it’s pretty high up and out of the way but it’ll likely depend on your tire offset. I’d guess it’s pretty safe up there. Thanks for watching!

Slick setup. How audible is the fuel pump from outside?
@GrizzlyPath10 ай бұрын
Thanks! Still needs some fine tuning, but it works great. I can’t hear it with it mounted on the outside of the vehicle like this.

Sick setup, love the sherpa rack too! What's the coldest you've slept in with this setup? I'm looking for a good winter sleeping solution and this seems like a rad idea!
@GrizzlyPath11 ай бұрын
Thanks! I’ve slept in it down to about 0°, so not insanely cold, but pretty cold. I’ve also used the setup with the heater piped into the window while I sleep in the car.

@@GrizzlyPath Nice! Yeah my plan is to go into the car and have another window cracked to vent. Does it work well in those temps?
@GrizzlyPath11 ай бұрын
@davidvanryn oh yeah works awesome. These diesel heaters are overkill for such a small enclosed space. Usually have all the windows cracked to let heat out.

@@GrizzlyPath Great to hear! Well thanks for the idea, I'll have to try it for ski trips this year!
@GrizzlyPath11 ай бұрын
@davidvanryn of course! Honestly it’s also doable to get a pre-built cheap diesel heater and just have it on the ground outside the vehicle. I’ve done that and it works well too! Unfortunately with an SUV it’s hard to store the diesel outside the vehicle, especially if the roof is occupied. I didn’t like having it inside because the tanks can leak and spill and that’s horrible inside a vehicle ha.

V1.1: Drill some small holes in your knobs and rope them to the unit so they don't fall on the ground in the snow. 😆 That would ruin your day if you lost them!
