FYI: Due to the power of marketing most people do not realize that "Dip Powder" and regular "Acrylic Powder" are made from the exact same polymer, to create the powder. Often, it's a combination of ethyl methacrylate (EMA) and methyl methacrylate (MMA) the difference is that "dip powder" is pulverized to a finer powder . Higher-end name brand "Acrylic Powder" like Young Nails are finer powder... the cost is higher because It takes much more processing. But dip powder can be used as a regular acrylic powder you just have to adjust how much liquid monomer you use which most nail techs do by second nature. great video/tutorial!

Exactly! Just a marketing ploy! 💯 thanks for watching

@emilyscott21094 жыл бұрын
ItsAdriiiBitchez not sure but in her videos doing the dip with “regular” acrylic she doesn’t even use an activator. She just uses gel polish then dips, then light and repeats until she has all her layers then top coats. I do this also but I have an activator so I use it also (just in case) lol

I have so many make up pigments that I have gotten on clearance. I even have some beautiful MAC shimmers that I would never use on my eyes, but nails? Oh yeah! I knew that you could mix them with clear to make your own polish, but I never dreamed that you could make personal dip powder colors with them! Does regular acrylic clear powder work with the dip activators? With the clear polish it seems like it may not harden like acrylics or dip nails do.

This idea is genius, inexpensive and the end result colors are beautiful, but please dont hate on dollar store nail polish. I use almost exclusively dollar store polish for EVERYTHING with my nails, and if you know how to work with it, it makes absolutely no discernible difference. Literally no one believes me that I only use dollar store nail polishes until I show them my entire nail polish collection and they see that the only deviation is my polygel kit, which I still use dollar store polish over the top of my polygel nails.

You didn't have to file or buff them out they were smooth?
@NailedbyNikki5 жыл бұрын
They were smooth but if I did this on a real person i would buff them for sure

You open the La Girl eye shadows from the bottom. It will just dump out once you get it open.

Also, will using the gel base coat for the layers instead of glue ruin the brush of the gel base coat?
@NailedbyNikki4 жыл бұрын
Nope I do that technique all the time. It is my preferred way to dip 😁
