FYI: Due to the power of marketing most people do not realize that "Dip Powder" and regular "Acrylic Powder" are made from the exact same polymer, to create the powder. Often, it's a combination of ethyl methacrylate (EMA) and methyl methacrylate (MMA) the difference is that "dip powder" is pulverized to a finer powder . Higher-end name brand "Acrylic Powder" like Young Nails are finer powder... the cost is higher because It takes much more processing. But dip powder can be used as a regular acrylic powder you just have to adjust how much liquid monomer you use which most nail techs do by second nature. great video/tutorial!

Whats a nail dip activator substitute??
@emilyscott21094 жыл бұрын
ItsAdriiiBitchez not sure but in her videos doing the dip with “regular” acrylic she doesn’t even use an activator. She just uses gel polish then dips, then light and repeats until she has all her layers then top coats. I do this also but I have an activator so I use it also (just in case) lol

I love dip nails. Once I tried it, I couldn't go back to standard acrylics. I had tons of supplies left over and found that all of the powders worked great. Then when I ran out of the dip activator, so I used my monomer and it worked perfect! And I love those shadows. I have used them for makeup, nails and even my clay sculptures. I mean, a dollar! How could I not try it. lol

Wow! Innovative and gorgeous! I love it!!! I have a question. I’ve never done anything w acrylic nails or powders. I’ve only ever done my nails with regular polishes or nail wraps. My question: how do you remove this powder manicure from nails? Acetone? Is there any special technique that I’ll need to do? Thank you!
@NailedbyNikki5 жыл бұрын
Hiiii so you are an acrylic newbie huh? 😊 hiiii 🙋🏽♀️ Well to remove them you just cut and file down then soak in acetone. Very similar to wraps. I actually think soaking off wraps is harder because the resin in wraps doesn't break down as easily as the acrylic powder

I have so many make up pigments that I have gotten on clearance. I even have some beautiful MAC shimmers that I would never use on my eyes, but nails? Oh yeah! I knew that you could mix them with clear to make your own polish, but I never dreamed that you could make personal dip powder colors with them! Does regular acrylic clear powder work with the dip activators? With the clear polish it seems like it may not harden like acrylics or dip nails do.
@NailedbyNikki5 жыл бұрын
Yes ma'am you can use regular acrylic and the activator bc the activator is drying the resin not necessarily the acrylic powder so you are good to go!😉

Another question! I’ve watched your videos of how you use the clear gel base coat and the “regular” acrylic powder to do a set of acrylic nails and now I see you’re making your own colors which is awesome! But what is your thought on using a colored gel polish color instead of a clear? Like maybe use a clear for the original first base and then use the color and clear acrylic on top and repeat... do you think that would work? I’d love to see a video of you trying that and experimenting!

I always clear coat my natural nails before and after dipping in color, and their Quick Dip clear looked like it had bubbles in it, when I put it on my nails. I even tried running my efile around in the container for a few minutes to see if that would help....nope, no bueno

Hi! Last night I tried to make my own acrylic dip powder. I used a high definition clear acrylic powder with some eye shadow I scraped into the container and some small sparkles and glitter powder. What should the consistency of the powder be? Cuz mine, I had to almost pat the powder in place or like push my finger against the powder to get it to work there was no way it would work to pour it onto the nail or dip and pull out. They truly did come out amazing when I was done but it wasn’t the easy just dip my fingers in and out and be done. Do you have any ideas for me? And any advice? The powder was super soft like flour almost. It wasn’t very “flowy” like acrylic powder is. Do you think there maybe wasn’t enough acrylic powder?
@NailedbyNikki4 жыл бұрын
Add just a little color. Just to color the acrylic but you definitely need more acrylic than eyeshadow otherwise it will not be strong enough.😉

Do you know if you can use chrome or metallic pigments to make dip powder? I love the look but can’t find any dipping powder with them. I can’t do regular acrylic but I can do dipping.

I think I saw some fine glitter acrylic on young nails website... but If u want you can just buy some very fine glitter from Sally's or Madam Glam and add it to your acrylic... As far as making it look exactly like the chrome I don't think so bc u get that effect from rubbing it in
