Tip 1 - Choose soak off or file off polygel. Soak off is best for beginners. File off requires electric nail file. The tube shows what type of polygel it is. Tip 2 - Use 50/70% Alcohol. Avoid higher percentages Tip 3 - Avoid using acetone when doing polygel. This removes everything Tip 4 - use something lint free to remove excess alcohol from brush (recommended makeup sponge) Tip 5 - Get a good base coat. This keeps polygel and nail together. (Recommended Kodi rubber based gel) Tip 6 - Use a softer grit file with more gel based polygel to avoid scratches. Use harder grit files for more acrylic based polygel. Higher file number means softer file. Tip 7 - When finished with polygel tube, squeeze air out to reduce air bubbles. Squeeze tube until polygel comes to the top then cover tube. Tip 8 - Toothpaste key can be used as a cheaper alternative to polygel key. This also keeps less air in the container. Tip 9 - As a beginner it is best to flash cure individual nails for 10 seconds to avoid messing up work. When finished, cure all nails for full 60 seconds. Tip 10 - Explore different cheaper options for second layer to polygel such as gel or acrylic to avoid spending too much Extra tip - Store excess Polygel in opaque container to avoid waste. Scrape off surface with brush.

Nailed by Nikki Absolutely must explain something to you right now. Today. July 18-19 to be precise, I have been in a grumpy and down mood all day. To be honest, this is very rare for me so I had no clue what was going on as there seems to be nothing I can think of that would cause that as I’m typically in high spirits most the time. So to offset whatever I’ve been going through today I started watching polygel videos. I honestly watch more nail videos then actually trying any of these tutorials on my nails. I have grown a love for polygel as my very first nail obsession at age 34. Yep. My younger years may have seen me a maximum of 15 times at a nail salon. Tried 3 or 4 kiss homekits which always ended with them miraculously popping off 4 hours of messy work by the next day and the kits would relay rest to rot under the bathroom sink until next Spring cleaning. Now, I have become a huge fan of LongHairPrettyNails page and watch her videos mainly, and if my feed suggests a video that has a cool design as the thumbnail, then I watch those. But on to you, it recommended your ten polygel tips video. I honestly expected you to say things like... use a good lamp, cure for 60 seconds or more, don’t use too much or too little, wipe the sides, don’t forget base coat. No. Every tip you gave was essential and a game changer. I saved the video and considered that I would try those out with my cheap wish polygels that I wanted to master before purchasing the big boys on amazon. I looked down at my sad current set, currently missing the right index finger because I’ve at least gotten it down to were only 1-3 will pop off during the first week. However, I’m still grumpy, lying down, stuffing my face with snacks. I start going through your videos, trying to focus more on polygel as I am totally intimidated by acrylic and gels but managed to catch a few of those two. By the 8th video I watched, I purchased both a markartt color changing kit, and another big name glitter kit on amazon, popped off the rest of the 9 sad nails I had, and am up at 4 in the morning with a background noise Netflix show on, prepping my nails when I see your notifications liking my comment. I am not completely out of the dark cloud today but your videos inspired me to get up and move and that was more then I would have done without it. And the reason for that is, aside from your lovely uplifting attitude and demeanor, you have something nonnnneeee of these other channels have, in my opinion. And that’s actual teaching ability. There have ALLWAYS BEEN SOMETHING MISSING in these nail tutorials as well as the makeup ones in that matter, and I feel like they are always talking to intermediate nail techs or makeup artist. However, watching your videos made me feel, and perhaps a bit overzealous here, that my next set is going to scream “Professional Celebrity Nail Set”. And so for that. I thank you. I have probably only ever comments on 10 videos ever. And I’ve never said more than 5?sentences. But I felt the need to truly say, monetization and fun aside, you are helping people on a deeper level you may not know about. And why you aren’t plastered on the front page of KZbin is the only crime here. - with love, Valerie. ❤️

Bless you! I was getting ready to do my poly gel nails and did not know any of the above. I would have had a mess! because the other KZbin tutorials, I've watched failed to tell me any of the above. I just don't understand why somebody would want to steer you wrong and set you up for failure that's something I just don't comprehend. so I want to bless you today. for keeping it real. 💯 I have subscribed and will continue to watch and share! So with that being said I want to send you all the blessings I could give you today amen you are a blessing to me😇🤗

Great tips, thank you so much. 💜💜 my tip is ..... if the poly gel is soft and getting sticky, keep it in the fridge or a cool place and it will firm up a treat and be easier to apply. Xx 🤩😘

Lol!! Scrape it up off the floor. So funny. I’m using the cosmetic wedges. A genius idea. Thanks!! I wish I’d had this video before I started cuz I’ve made all the mistakes too. I’m so thrilled with polygel! I’m using it as overlay at this point because try nails have grown way out with polygel on. Fills are fast and easy! Hugs!

I’m new here but I am loving your content. I don’t have much “me time” with college and working full time, so I’ve tried dip powder but I’m way too much of a perfectionist so I think I’m going to love the dual forms and polygel. I’m excited to try this stuff out, thanks girl! 💅👑

Well duhhhh!!!! Haha Just kidding gal. Ya know I love you!! Girl, I am poly gel queen. I love me some PG. Non of my packages have said soak off for some reason. I file off all mine anyway cause it's faster. That makeup sponge is a great tip. I gotta start using those. Also, prep is the number one most important step. Prep must be done correctly or nothing works. It's the foundations of nail life.. Also try Gel Bottle Inc Rubber base. They have a sale for Black Friday. Ayy ayyy ayy...lol This was a GREAT VIDEO for learner's. Great job girl.
