Halloween is coming! Here is a simple and easy tutorial to make a cute decoration for Halloween! Try experiment with different socks color and/or facial expression to make your own version pumpkin plush!

This is incredible cute! I want to try it out. I recently started to try to make sock plushies, but my socks keep ripping. Have you ever had your socks rip? I don't know if I am stuffing them too much, being too rough with them, got socks that are cheaply made, or all three. Do you find getting a specific brand of socks work better?

+Ginger Artist I've used various brand of socks including brandless one but never had them rip before XD I wish I can have a picture of your sock plushie so I can see why. I am guessing that there are a few possibilities 1) the stitches is not sewn on firmly. 2) the distance between the stitches and the raw edge of the fabric are too near. Need at least 0.5cm seam allowance 3) it could be the socks are poorly made

I shall take a picture of my sock plushie for you. Surprisingly, it didn't rip at the stitch, but closer to the top of the body. sta.sh/02065wj1zoig The blue plush and black with eyes/nose plush are my first attempts with sewing/making sock plushies. The next two, I was trying to make a Mokona plush (from clamp). The white spot on the last one is the hole. It was a bigger rip, but I tried to sew it up. +Ginger Artist Thanks for sharing the pictures! It definitely helps me to understand it more :D They looks perfectly normal! That happens to me too when I stuff a sock too much lol. The more it stretches, the more "transparent" it will get. Usually it have more impact on the darker color sock because of the color contrast with the white color stuffing. I would suggest using a lighter color sock or have it stuff lesser if it bothers you :)

+snowbubblemonster Thank you so much! This is actually pretty easy to make lol :D Actually I think my camera setup are awkward too! I am pretty much hugging my long tripod(that stands on floor) when I shoot my video! lol. I've thought of getting a table tripod but had a hard time deciding which model to get XD...after some times I sort of get used to it..I guess most important is the result. I saw your videos! I think they are great!! :D

Omg I do the exact same thing.. I hug my tripod while stretching out my arms as far or close as I need them to be. ^^; I haven't thought about using a table tripod cause my camera's pretty chunky and heavy, but I'm getting used to it as well lol.

+JustPeaachy No need to say sorry! The tips is to sew a couple of stitches at the gathers(after you pulled the thread to close) so it won't open up. Then make the knot :)
