Excellent video. I wish you had shown how to use them for those of us who have never seen them.

It really depends on the dock that I am tying off to. I normally put the closed end on my cleat and the open end around a dock post. If that isn't an option then tie off on the dock cleat with one end and my cleat on the other end. Not all cleats are the same size though so there is no 1 way to do it. You just need to play around with it and see what works best for you.

@@MongoFishing thank you for taking the time to explain how to use the Docking sticks. I’m sure I could have worked it out, but by replying, you show your concern for, and dedication to, your channel and your viewers.

You might want to show how you implement them

Do you have another video that shows how you then attach them to your boat and the dock to keep the boat safely away from the dock? I don’t get what to do with the end that has the 2 hooks for use on a cleat.
@MongoFishing3 жыл бұрын
The hooks can either be used on a cleat or you can use them to wrap around a dock post if cleats aren't an option.

Are they for short term tie up, or would they be secure enough for extended docking in windy conditions?
@MongoFishing3 жыл бұрын
That isna really good question. I only use mine for short term tie up because I don't know the strength rating for the bungee. I have never tried them in rough conditions. If I was docking for longer term like getting out of a storm, I would probably tie off or put one on each cleat on both sides of the boat.

How is it used???????
@drummergirlforhim3 жыл бұрын
Does the tape also protect the boat from scratches as the boat moves? I’ve seen others put a noodle over the end of the pvc and then a sock over the noodle to protect the boat from scratches that could happen from the pvc itself.
@MongoFishing3 жыл бұрын
Pool noodles work the best for scratch prevention but the tape does help.

How do you use them?
@MongoFishing2 жыл бұрын
It really depends on the dock. I use the loop end on my cleat and the hook end on the dock. Some docks use different cleats so you may have to play around and find out what works the best for your lake.

Good video, thanks! I found 48" orange bungees with aluminum caribiners at Harbor Freight, if helpful to anyone.

Thought it was dogging sticks and the loop was a wrist strap so you don't loose it

What's the actual purpose of the duct tape? Just for gripping the stick?
@MongoFishing3 жыл бұрын
Yes it makes it easier to grip and it makes the end caps fit a little tighter.

you put 1/2 pvc in the description but clearly that is not 1/2"
