This works like a charm. Have a great dane, picky eater, always been a challenge to keep weight on, usually won't eat more than 2 bowls day. Tried silk balls, raw, dyne, and others with no luck. Been using this for about 3 weeks, Dane goes crazy for it. Easily putting down 5 bowls across 3 feedings with no issues and holding his weight. Glad I found this!

@@kimcordwell3804 I just pour it on top and mix well, making sure everything is coated like a thick gravy. I increased the feedings slowly by an additional half a bowl in the morning and evening each week to limit any bloat or other unwanted side effects. By week three I had him up to 5 bowls a day and then kept it there until he was a decent thickness. Then I tapered back to 2 bowls in the morning and evening for maintenance. Then down to 1 bowl with the secret sauce and 2 to 3 bowls of dry kibble a day over the summer. Kept his weight and thickness nicely. Your mileage may vary, I adjusted feedings based off of how he was looking and acting.

Forgot to mention, I also add wheat germ and uncooked oatmeal to this mix to thicken it up and add some additional slow digesting carbs to it

I have a question and I apologize now for being so lengthy. I live in Georgia near a dirt road where people often abandon their dogs. I do not own a kennel just hate to see dogs starving. Well in November 2020 I was told that two puppies were at the local dumpster, looks about 3 month old. Brindle colored pits. I know nothing about pits and this is the first time seeing them abandoned. The larger of the two would fight the smaller one for food, so I had to use two bowls and stay in my car while they fed or they would growl at me the entire time. It was a couple of weeks before I thought of taking my female dog to meet the pups. They followed her all the way home, (2 miles). The next day one became sick and I called the Helping Hand Humane Society, (HHHS) to take it to the vet. He had rocks, bones, other junk in the x-ray but after an enema he was fine and she adopted him out. We aren't so luck with the other one. I call him Shadow. He loves dogs more than people, but what concerns the HHHS is catching him to get his shots. We have had a case of the Parvovirus. I read an article that said certain dogs are easier to catch the virus than pits. (btw the DNA on the adopted pup shows 100 percent pit. the cage we used to catch dogs is damaged and we are trying to raise funds to buy a new trap, but they are costly. In the meantime I wanted to ask you if you have ever heard of Parvo in pits? I don't won't this guy to get sick and die on me, but I know it will take some time to get the money for the cage. He passed out when they pulled him inside so they were able to get him his shots and neutered. He only trust certain people enough to get close to him, bur he seems happy. He is a smart one.
