DIY Dollar Tree Multipurpose Organizer Caddy Portable Organizer Carrier (Easy $5)

Hi friends! Today, I'll show you my latest DIY Dollar Tree Multipurpose Organizer that you can carry anywhere and use for anything it can carry. Below are the many uses:
Planner organizers, home office organizer, school supplies organizer, art supplies organizer, homeschool organizer, mini pantry organizer, under the sink organizer, over the counter organizer, desktop organizer, dorm room organizer, small space organizer, small apartment organizer, tiny house organizer, craft room organizer, make up organizer, craft organizer, kitchen organizer, bathroom organizer, toy organizer, slime organizer, bill organizers, filing system, file folders organizer, scrapbooking storage, journaling storage, mail organizer, incoming and outgoing mail organizer, incoming and outgoing file organizer, buffet caddy, paper plates organizers, receipt organizer, sticker organizer, nail polish organizer, make up palette organizer, home organizer, hot drink organizer, k-cup organizer, tea bags organizer, dish organizer, RV organizer.
Materials used:
2 Dollar Tree shower caddies
2 Dollar Tree shallow rectangular tray baskets
1 Dollar Tree toilet plunger
Dollar Tree zip ties (large ones)
Scissors (I use the sharp one sold at Dollar Tree)
Box cutter (optional)
Dollar Tree hacksaw (use what you have to cut wood)
Hot glue gun and glue sticks (Optional. I used hot glue to reinforce the zip ties and connections like I always do with my DIY organizers)
Acrylic paint (optional. You can leave the wood unpainted. I got the acrylic paint at Walmart for $0.46)
Paintbrush (if you are painting)
Additional organizers I used. These are optional items:
2 Dollar Tree small skinny plastic baskets (they come 3-4 per pack; I used them to organize pens, washis, and condiments)
2 Dollar Tree small stackable bins (to hold receipts or napkins)
2 Dollar Tree large plastic envelopes (to organize stickers or receipts)
1 Dollar Tree small plastic envelope (to organize receipts)
1 Dollar Tree magazine holder or basket (I used to hold the plastic envelopes and paper plates)
1 Dollar Tree medium rectangular basket/bin (I used to hold napkins and disposable cups)
Dollar Tree white paper cups in white gray lace designs (I used to hold straws and plastic utensils)

@@LifeDIYJosie I have a question though, I didn't understand why not have the zip ties on the bottom as well as top of the trays. I didn't get why it would buckle. I'm going to make it just like you did but I wanted to understand about the bottom ties. Thanks!

Hi Aj, thanks for your question. I noticed that because of the way the baskets were made, with tapering not straight, when I tied towards the bottom part of each basket tray where tapering is more pronounced, the basket buckled a little and the caddy was tilting. So, in order to avoid that, I only tied zip ties on the top straight portion of the trays. I hope that clarifies things. I should have explained that more in detail. I'll pin this so everyone will understand.

I'm making Easter baskets for 2 of my Grandchildren filled with a bunch of art supplies & books! This will be awesome to make with them (of course I will do the precuts) Also, I think this will be a great baby care gift for my cousins new baby! Diapers & wipes on the bottom, undershirts on top with pins, creams & other hygiene products on the side - she'll be able to carry it anywhere!

Oh Josie, you've done it again! You're the QUEEN OF ORGANIZING CADDIES, and this one is BY FAR MY FAVORITE! This would be FANTASTIC to use as a spice rack too - and if you have a pot rack hanging from the kitchen ceiling, you could use large S hooks to hang this from your pot rack to free up counter space in a small kitchen. Also, you could hang this outside from a tree with two of those BIG TREE HOOKS (instead of hanging a plant) to offer corn cobs, orange halves, grape jelly and bird seed for our furry and feathered friends. You could even hang a couple of hummingbird feeders from the bottom! WOW! Your projects ALWAYS make my brain churn with wonderful ideas inspired by YOU, Josie! Just had another thought, Josie. How about using one for your cat/dog treats? Don't forget the catnip, LOL! A second one for their toothpaste and toothbrush, along with their grooming tools, brushes /combs, hair accessories, etc. You could also put one by the door for collars, leashes and "do-dee bags" you take with you on walks to clean up their poop. No more forgotten bags! For those of us who live where it snows, you could keep your pet's sweaters and booties in the caddy, too!

Thanks again Josie you never seem to amaze me with all of your organizers. You never can have too many organizers that's for sure. Between my craft projects & my office I have made just about all that you have showed us. I still seem to have a problem with the zip ties that come from the Dollar Tree 🌳 but, have found a semi solution. I use the E6000 glue. Of course we all know that you need 24-48th hours for that glue to hold. Again Josie fantastic job. 💘 💘 💘

I think this would be a good picnic caddy. Instead of making so many trips outside to the picnic table just put everything you might use over the picnic season in this organizer and just carry it outside when you need it. Then after summer is over you could repurpose it for the kids' school papers or a homework station. So many ideas!
