Easiest brakes I have ever done on my X5 only problem was the wheel had some corrosion on the rim, would not come off the rotor, all I did was loosen the bolts and pull forward and stab the brakes. Thats the rust belt for you. Great vid. 👍
@Zeiten4 жыл бұрын
Yep, did the same again once when the wheel was too stubborn to come off😁 thanks

I like to Jack It from front to back and sometimes I use a rubber piece as well. :)

Would you recommend a burn-in procedure for the new pads? I’ve heard something like accelerate to 30mph then brake almost to a stop and repeat 3 times etc.
@Zeiten8 ай бұрын
Not really necessary but you can do it if you want to

You guys keep on making the "pop the spring off" thing look like a nothing momentary procedure. Then I get in there, and 15 MINUTES LATER, finally pry it loose. Now I'm worried it's all bent up and may not do its job with the new pads.

Do you recommend adding brake grease in back of the brake pads? I used to do it on my Hondas and Mercedes.
@Zeiten2 жыл бұрын
Nope

What about the brake fluid? Won’t that be an issue/create leaks when you compress the brakes?
@Zeiten3 жыл бұрын
Not a chance, only if brake fluid reservoir is overfilled when you compress brakes excessive fluid will escape through brake fluid reservoir cap and that’s it

Really enjoy all your videos man. I did some rear brakes and rotors on a bmw recently. Afterwards though the emergency brake didn't work. Pull the handle and you get no grip. goes all the way up. Any idea why that would happen? It has brake shoes inside the rotor for the e-brake on this car (can't remember which model)
@Zeiten4 жыл бұрын
Might be snapped cable or something else, take the rotor out see what’s up

@@Zeiten hi bro.. For clear stories: my front brake pads still has about 60k km left and my rear brake pads around 26k km left previously, yesterday morning I switch on my car and suddenly my front brake pads warning pop up, when I checked visually I noticed that my front brake pads sensor had broken(wire sensor touching wheel but brake pads still thick, I decided to remove the sensor and didn't replace the sensor yet untill now), at the same time the warning sign pop up for Rear brake pads need to be replace(I replaced new rear brake pads and the sensor), my question is why I can't reset warning sign after I replaced my rear brake pads using odo and bc button?😂
@Zeiten Жыл бұрын
Sometimes you need to drive for a bit s then reset it, happens

Do those brake pad sensors come with the brake kit normally. If not what brand would you get?
@Zeiten3 жыл бұрын
Usually not, we use bowa brand its oem

@@Zeiten Do you have to replace the sensor for the car to work properly?
@Zeiten3 жыл бұрын
Brake pad wear sensor does not affect operation of the car at all in most cases, on some older models faulty sensor can shit down abs bit that is rare and basically the worst that can happen
@capo337g3 жыл бұрын
@@Zeiten is the sensor a must to replace while replacing the pads? Can you just do the pads and use old sensor?
@Zeiten3 жыл бұрын
You can, but I wouldn’t recommend doing the job without having a new sensor since it is very easy to break the old one during removal from the pad even if it is still operational
