@ i made it across the border last week, froze my ass off in montana n again at salt lake city, because my batteries died, n lithium wont charge in the cold, n furnace aint great, couldn't heat up camper much, was white knuckle driving to get to better weather. Not something i wanna do in January ever again though lol. So i be-lined it to quartzsite Az. Checking out this crazy big tent rv show, n the number of rv's here is wild to see. As an rv nut, this is defiantly a bucket list kinda thing to do at least once, it's crazy! 😂. 🍻

Eric, just a quick observation for your tv cabinet. Remove the hinges on the right side. And just put the same latches you have on the left side. Just unlatch all four and pull it out.

Smart! We did the same on our 3500. Went from a stock 180 to a 370 and kept the 180 as a spare. The 5500 has stock twin 220 amp alternators. I’m hoping to get two 50amp dc to dc chargers this spring from Victron and get rid of my renogy.

Just subscribed a few weeks ago, just because of your camper wrap! 😂 Any details who I should seek out, as far as the wrap? I'm assuming you had someone print the wrap, then you installed it? I have a Northern Lite Fiberglass TC and wanting to do something similar. Enjoying your content and the information you provide. Thank you both!
@thecumminscamper12 күн бұрын
@ thanks for watching and subscribing! Stoked you’re enjoying the videos. I did not do the install of the wrap myself. The company VFXwraps out of NJ did everything besides choose the image for the wrap. They did provide me a website to choose the image from and there were over a million image options. Depending on where you are geographically, I’d try and find someone in your area who does wraps on boats and approach them. Love the northern lite campers! Super well built.

23:50 2024, after almost two decades full-time live-aboard, we finally retired our ancient AGM bank. . We took our specifications to MAC'S BATTERIES AND SOLAR in Eugene Oregon. In three days, they built our new 24v LiFePo4 bank and installed it in a custom cabinet. . For about us$2600, we have the equivalent of sixteen (16) 100ah BattleBorn. . For photovoltaics, MAC'S carries several hundred panels of all sizes and configuration. . We feed our bank from six 305-Watt panels, a total of 1,830-Watts. I fabricated a toy-hauler on a similar commercial chassis, and we just might add an additional six panels on its roof, bringing us to an excessively obsessive amount of catching free fuel falling from the sky.
@thecumminscamper12 күн бұрын
1830 watts is a ton! I’d love to get close to that. My challenge for solar panels is if i go with larger panels on my roof rack I’m completely negating my ability to walk on my roof. I’d have to walk over the panels to get to the cab over. I’m still trying to decide what the right move is

01:23 Grid-heater bolts destroy engines! I am glad you dumped it.
@thecumminscamper12 күн бұрын
They sure do! Seems is mostly an issue in cold climates but can happen to anyone when/if the grid heater relay sticks and stays on melting the nut enough to where it falls into the engine. I can stand the idea of a faulty designed nut taking out a whole engine 😂

I want to run air conditioner on batteries also. I figured i need a 400 amp altinator, 100 amp dc to dc charger, and at least 3 60 amp solor charge controllers to keep up recharging. Will also have to upgrade to 48 volt system. Good way to to spend 2500.00. I bought a 15.00 diesel exhaust pipe and drilled a hole in the truck wall where the back of seat was and run my generator where my back seat was and it's even quieter.

Great video and thanks for posting it! In regards the vinyl wrap, did you take a picture of what you wanted and it was blown up from there? As well, did you have the hot water tank changed to one that is electric and gas? My 04 Lance 1161 only has a gas hot water heater.
@thecumminscamper12 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching! So the hot water heater electric element will fit your 04 Lance hot water heater also. It adds the electric element to our existing LP hot water heaters. Pretty easy to install. Plugs right into a 120v outlet and has a toggle switch for when you want to use it. Search Camco Hot Water Hybrid Heat on Amazon. For the wrap, the company doing the work provided us a website where we could choose from over 1,000,000 options. We searched Lake, Trees, Mountains and then filtered down the results to fall in love with this picture

Engineers/manufacturers can only do so much so it’s great that there’s a community of people out there modifying their campers to maximize the rig for their use.

19:15 I think the downfall of Western Civilization can be directly traced to the over-use of decor pillows...
@thecumminscamper12 күн бұрын
Everytime a female checks out our camper they compliment the pillows. If that female has a husband with her she says “see babe, they have a bunch of decorative pillows too”. Women love them, men see no use for them
