DIY Elder Wand made out of Harry Potter Book

Make With Miles

Күн бұрын

In this video I make the elder wand by glueing harry potter books together.
This video is very different from my regular ones, it was more experimental but we will be back to the normal style in the next video.
Follow me on Instagram: / makewithmiles
This video has taken about a year and a half to make because I ran into some issues along the way. One major setback was when I tried to stabilize the first blank. The cactus juice I used didn't react well with the wood glue, the blank cracked when I cured it in the oven.
I was hoping the wood glue would work because it's budget friendly, but I was wrong ;)
The reason I ended up shaping it with the rotary tool was because it was too thin to continue turning it.

Holy heck! Miles, this is an awesome video! I LOVE the cinematics, and all the little references to other makers, like the Jackman hard cut transformations, and everything else. Love the result as well, and not hiding your failures. I just about died laughing when I saw my face on screen. Thank you for that! Super cool video! 🤩

This came out so cool! It's really neat that you can see some of the text peeking through. The beard made me chuckle! Also "The Juice of One Cactus" and "Vacuum Chamber of Secrets"! Nicely done!

Thomas Edison said that he didn’t fail 100 times to make a light bulb. He just invented 100 ways to NOT make one. The great thing about art is if you don’t like what you did, you can change it. Never stop at what you deem a failure. You just learned how to not make it.

Dang, Miles! It took a sinister turn at the end, but your cinematic approach to revealing this long-term project was both entertaining and very creative!!! Great job on all aspects: the project itself, the videography, the soundtrack choices, and all of your patience in this endeavor!!! Excellent job all around!!!

Both the video and your wand are incredible pieces of artful making. I only recently found your channel, and have been binge watching from the beginning. Of the many makers I have watched put their own spin on a Harry Potter project, this has got to be one of the most amazing outcomes. The fact that some text from the novel is visible on the wand is such a beautiful touch. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The level of effort for this must have been tremendous and it certainly shows.
