I'm just now pulling a very heavy engine transmission from an old Ford replacing the chassis with Subaru chassis. This is great !

Informative video, thanks! I'm from Australia, and have a BMW E30 (which I've owned for 20yrs). Looking into the future, thinking of converting it to electric in the next year or two. Battery options are becoming more efficient and cheaper, so hopefully I will be able to get a good power/weight/range ratio!

Umm... May i please ask a question? .. If so: At 25:17 it says "... register for a 2014 workshop" ... but just above, n the info blurb above this text box, the date of publication of this clip is 8 De. 2013. So, the question: Are you guys still running those 3 day workshops?

Hi Richard. That was a great video. I want to convert my Formula Vee single seater race car for hillclimbs with an electric motor. The question is: does these formula shown in the video also apply to a competition car?
@ev4u8 жыл бұрын
Information given is for on-road vehicles. If all you are doing is hillclimbs then range should not be an issue. The electric motor will give you great low end torque. Thanks for watching. Please address all future questions or comments to: info@EV4Unow.com

Your equations are very conservative. According to your formulas above, the Tesla Model 3 Long range should only go 143 Miles on a full charge. The EPA rating on the Model 3 is 353 miles. At what speed is your calculation taking place? 75 mph?
@ev4u4 жыл бұрын
The range formula is for conversions. Not factory produced vehicles. Very few vehicles, especially classics or other commonly converted vehicles have rolling resistance or drag coefficient as low as a Tesla or most factory EVs. BTW, our equations are very accurate when comes to conversions. We have over a dozen years of conversions that verify the formula.

Excellent video, I'm in the UK looking to convert a Nissan Figaro with a kurb weight about 1800lbs, this gave a huge insight into the variables. Is there an 8" DC motor you'd recommend?
@ev4u7 жыл бұрын
I would recommend either the NetGain WarP 9 or ImPulse 9 for that weight. When converted you will be over 2,000 lbs. That is better served with a 9" DC motor. Also recommend you check out the AC setups from HPEVS. Thanks for watching.

Can some one explain why cant you design a system that charges itself like a alternator charging a normal car battery. I know the amount of electricity needed would be far greater but there are step up inverters and stuff i have checked out in other videos.
