In this week's episode of metalwork monday, we demonstrate the use of the DIY electric hydraulic hole punch station that we recently built. Its perfect for small production runs where you need to punch holes in a consistent pattern. There are plans available for building your own station just like this one.

Do you know if it is possible to punch a 1/4” hole in the middle of the flat part of a 3/4” steel angle? The hole would be about 0.43” from the outside corner. I worry there is not enough room and the punch will hit the side of the angle before hitting the side of the angle resting on the die Appreciate any help in this matter

Here's what I did to get around that problem. I bought a house with 1,800sf workshop in back. Not the neighborhood I want to live in, nor did I want to move anyway. So, I rent out the house which more than pays the mortgage. Now I have a large workshop better than rent-free where I now work full time AND I'm building wealth. There is always a solution #worksmart

@@elesjuan They're down to $500 now from Vevor. A recent project had me at the drill press for 3 days. This machine would have cut that to less than one day. That project's labor savings alone would pay for the machine a few times over. I only wish I'd have learned about this machine sooner! Bought it as soon as I discovered it, arrived last week. Potentially a huge money maker.
