. Electroplating is a process by which one metal surface is coated with another, using the process of electrolysis. This may be done for one of various reasons, such as to improve aesthetics, to prevent rusting etc.
In this lovely TACtivity, we coat an iron nail with copper by conducting electrolysis in a copper sulphate solution, where the iron nail and a copper strip are the electrodes.
