Love your embellishments. I’ve done the same thing but I glue two or three of the strips side by side so that you see all the strips at the same time. You get a wider strip that way.

Oh of course! I started doing that too years ago hehe... This video is like 6 years old I think. I made other more complicated embellishment videos if you are looking for something more complicated because was just a beginner's tutorial ;)

Thanks for the information. I isn’t even look at the date of the video. When to make some and course I didn’t have any staples . Dang I am a mess. I’m waiting to get my second Kallax 4x4 and they are never in. Setting up my new craft room. I have a heat-press, sublimation printer, silhouette machine and tons of other things that I have to rearrange.

I'm trying to find tiny word stickers and haven't been able to find them.. where do you get them? I have some tim holtz ones but only words not phrases and I want variety loved the video. just started into embellishments but am still buying the basic stuff. got into punches so now I'm buying a bunch
@haliesjewelryandcrafts8 жыл бұрын
they have a variety on scrapbook.com and all the smalller suppliers online usually have a pretty good variety! You can even get them at joanns, hobby lobby and maybe even michaels website

At 4:01 you showed the hexagon punch. I bought my first punch at JoAnns last week and it was that style but a circle and I was shocked how expensive it was! It was like $12.00 and that was on sale! I thought I'd better practice cutting cause I'm not paying that much for each shape and size!!
@haliesjewelryandcrafts6 жыл бұрын
Joann's is the most expensive place to buy paper craft supplies! Michael's has good sales but the best place to buy punches is at Hobby Lobby because they have their own brand that is super high quality and they have half price sales just about every other week!

As a beginner paper crafter, I am making my own little banners, cutting pictures and sayings from books and magazines. I have no punchers yet. Since I am not familiar with the different collections, how do you recommend I store my cut outs so I don't go crazy looking for what I need when I sit to do my embellishments? Thanks you for your ideas.
@haliesjewelryandcrafts6 жыл бұрын
HI there! This is an old video so I am going to reply about what I THINK I said lol :) Anyway, the way you store the little handmade embellishments and cut out ephemera or pictures should depend on how you yourself craft and will use them! If you are the kind of person that will pull out a paper pad and use the coordinating papers and cut outs from it then I would store the embellishments you make with each paper pad or "collection" (a collection is just basically coordinating papers and embellishments with the same patterns, colors, themes, etc.)! However, if you like to mix and match papers and embellishments from different pads then I would store you embellishments by ":type" meaning put all the layered 3d banner embellishments together, then all the images you have cut out of scrapbook paper to make your own ephemera together, the stuff you cut out of magazines and books together, and so on!! Some people also like to store their embellishments by color, they mix all the "types" of embellishments together but have a separate container for each color! For example putting all your pink embellishments in one, gold embellishments in another, green in one and then have one for "multi color" or rainbow embellishments! For storage the container I am showing i this video is an "iris" container and they go on sale at crafts store ALL the time so they are under $2 each or you can buy this square container for about $8 that has 8 of the containers already inside! Then you just take your containers and separate or organize them how you think you will use them the best! in the meantime (or instead of), I use some little tiny "bucket" shaped plastic containers that you can get at any type of dollar store and then you have all your embellishments in open top containers ready top go! I hope this information helped! I haven't made craft videos in a long while so I may not be the best at explaining! Thanks girly!

love your little bow punch. where did you get. hoping to get in Australia
@haliesjewelryandcrafts7 жыл бұрын
The bow punch is by American Crafts and it is from their "Knock Outs" punch collection! All the punches in that collection are pink and the bow comes in the 3 sizes! I have the small one that I got at Tuesday Morning (I also saw it in Hobby Lobby and many online stores) and a good friend got me the medium size!

I have make a bunch of embellishments. The are fairly small, but hard to use on my 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 " size cards, except as a focal image. They are too random to do that. What can i use these things for?
@haliesjewelryandcrafts8 жыл бұрын
+JeanneLou Truitt I use them on basically everything! You can make the banner any length and I make a variety of sizes when I am doing them! I use them on flipbooks, pocket letters, Project Life style, my memory planner, and in my journals! They are also great for your scrapbook layouts!

Lol thank you! Yes, she is a corgi with a little mix of terrier or something lol! We were looking for a dog to adopt for over a year and I REALLY wanted a Corgi because that was what I had growing up! We had literally given up because now Corgis are one of the "cool and trendy dogs" and everyone else really likes them too and one day we were driving by a shopping center on the edge of town just 2 miles from our house and there she was! She was lonely and following a homeless man who had a pit mix puppy on a rope and he picked her up and put her in our car! She has been my best friend ever since! I put up and ad on Craigslist, the SPCA site, and called and let the pound know because she was between 7 and 9 when we found her but no one claimed her. She really likes old people so I think what happened is her owner died and the family didn't know what to do (I live in a rural area and sometimes country people don't always view animals as family members lol) so they abandoned her....but I have had her for 4 years and I am so HAPPY to have found her! My fiance picked the name Biscuit because he used to have a dwarf hamster with the same name lol

Well if you had read the title it says, DIY EMBELLISHMENTS (which I share in the video and discuss how they are made- you just started typing without finishing the video) And the rest of the title says BEGINNING CRAFTY TIPS, AND USE YOUR SCRAPS which is where the DIY Embellishments come in. All of the subjects on the title were addressed, but not all in the first 5 minutes of the video. Thanks for the comment though!
