So many techniques in one project! I learned so much. I really appreciate how you incorporate your planning process into the steps. Sometimes I get impatient with myself for not being able to just jump into a complex project, so it's good to be reminded that it takes time to get there. Looking forward to trying out those French knots!

Hi Lou, like you I have to stay close to home here in North Wales. I was feeling a little fed up when your fabulous tutorial popped up. I absolutely love your cushions, the fabric is gorgeous, really rustic and natural. I have always wanted to try embroidery but have always felt overwhelmed by some of the patterns, however, you have proved that a beautiful organic result can be achieved. A huge thank you Lou for so generously sharing your talent and creativity with us all. In these difficult days you are a real ray of sunshine ☀️. Sending you big virtual hugs and loves xxxxxxx Dorothy 🙋🏻❤️😘🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Thanks so much, I have been researching on how to make this type of Pillow. How many yards of fabric would I need to cover 4 20" x 20" pillow forms?
@LouDavis3 жыл бұрын
You’ll have to work it out based on how wide your fabric is. I won’t do it for you - I wouldn’t want to get it wrong and I don’t think natively in inches and yards.

@@LouDavis thank you, I will figure it out. I'm here in Philadelphia and really enjoy your videos!

Beautiful! May I ask how you knot the embroidery thread so that it doesn't pull straight through the fabric? Many thanks! ☺️
@LouDavis4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I'll try and remember how I did it! I think I just tied the simplest knot and pulled it as close to the end of the thread as possible while I was tightening it, and then probably tied a second knot in the same place as the first. If you prefer to, you can make two or three tiny stitches over one another in the same place rather than tying a knot, just leave a short tail and hold it in place while making the stitches.

Can these pillows be washed?
@LouDavis3 жыл бұрын
No reason why not - depending on the fabrics you use. If you use wool for the tassels, for example, it would shrink!
@912xoxtaylor4 жыл бұрын
What kind of fabric is the pillow?
@912xoxtaylor4 жыл бұрын
And what size yard did you use?
@LouDavis4 жыл бұрын
The fabric is linen and the yarn - I think it was just called 'extra chunky' or something similar, I don't have the label any more - it's at least double aran weight.
