A documentation of how I extended the lower control arms on my 1987 Mercedes 190e W201 to help increase the turning radius when drifting.

Great job. Did you think about adjusting the roll centre? Just thinking about turning the ball joint housing upside down? To drop the arm a little

How many degrees of negative camber you get with these size extensions?

Hello, can you make a video of how the car is turning with the wheel of? I'm looking to do some mods on my 190e and your help will be really needed! 😁 Thanks!

What steering are you using? The original or did you go to rack and pinion

Mac Made Rusty I used the original but added an electric power steering pump from a volvo s40

@@mheravetisyan1984 Did you need to extend tie rods or anything else? Or you can just extend the control arms and be ready to rock?
@mheravetisyan19845 жыл бұрын
Jacob Death I did have to extend the tie rods. Have another video of that as well

Should've made the LCA adjustable instead of welding it into a fixed position
@mheravetisyan19845 жыл бұрын
that would require a lot more work and would introduce several new fault points. This is an easy solution and reliable
@lsmalley5 жыл бұрын
@@mheravetisyan1984 modeled after a tie rod using a 12.9 adjustable reinforced bolt with stop nuts and securing brackets, it would be an ideal solution

@@lsmalley for what purpose? It would be much more work and I don't think I know what you mean by your description. If you are looking to make a fully adjustable front control arm, then better to make it from scratch. This video is about modifying the OEM control arm for more camber

Think ball joint for LCA on a large threaded end that you can screw in to the end of the modified LCA that had the oe part that holds the ball joint cut off and then made to accept the threaded ball joint. The purpose would be for the simple fact that you are permanently adding a specific amount of negative camber, which, if you for whatever reason need to adjust it you're basically effed and need to redo it again
