I'm surprised that the wheel wells/arches are in such good shape. I would have expected those to rot out before the bed crossmembers. BTW, other body men have mentioned using signpost stock to fabricate new crossmembers. It's the type that has a U crossection with splayed out sides and uniformly spaced holes to mount road signs. Best of all the holes are ready made drain holes for this application.

Same here, I have done the sign post method a long time ago on a stepside bed. I prefer using the crossmember kits because of it being practically OEM. I also used squared tubing for these beds before with great results.
