DIY Faux Wood Tags Using Puzzle Trees & Greeting Cards (59)

In this video, I share how to transform Dollar General & Dollar Tree Christmas Ornaments into faux wood tags. I use various colors of chalk paint and sand each one to give a rustic, distressed look. I cut out designs from various Christmas cards and then using mod podge I apply the design onto the tag. I also take Dollar General Puzzle Trees, fabric and mod podge to create a different version of the tags. These tags can be hung with stockings, displayed on tiered trays, gift tags or hung on the Christmas tree! This is an easy project and fun to make. Very affordable too. The ornaments were $1 and the cards are $1 for a pack of 12.

Oh Carl I absolutely love these. They are all fabulous. One suggestion if I may; using small sharp scissors like nail scissors angling the blades down will make the edges of you cards flatter and make the images look more like decoupage on the tags. 😊😊 Where are all your subscribers? What can we do to get you some more? Do you do monthly collars? They’re everywhere on KZbin.

I bought the big ones at Dollar Tree and the smaller ones came from Dollar General. I wished I would've bought more, these are really fun to make. I want to make some with vintage santas. I think I purchased these from Dollar General. Dollar Tree also carries them. They are packed up with my Christmas decor so I can't measure them for you. They are probably about 6"L. Hope this helps!
