If I had that, I wouldn’t bother buying a cart. My cart is a hassles even strapping it down...putting that axle on and off is just as fast if not faster, and it looks rock solid. Love the mod!!

Great mod! Just me two cents, I would use 5/8 round stock. Measured to length, drill for your pins.The all thread threads are hard on all parts in the long run. Nice work man.

Great idea. I never understood why Feel Free didn’t put two wheels instead of just 1. I agree it’s so unstable and it tilts to the side all the time. It’s quite annoying.

Question about yours, what size wheel and tire did you go with? I did this without the caps on the extensions, you don't really need them if your pipes are the right length. I also made a bushing out of a smaller gray conduit by turning it down on my lathe until it friction fit into the 3/4 PVC. I don't know that it makes any difference, but the axle fits tighter with it and i don't like a lot of slop. Taking out the keel wheel only requires a flat screwdriver and a 10mm allen wrench, the ones on the left side are reverse thread. There's a flat on the inside washer you put your screwdriver against to keep it from turning while you turn the outside nut, so no need to cut it off if you want to potentially sell it later.

What would really be cool is if you or someone else could figure out a more permanent solution to this where you wouldn't have to replace/remove the wheels at all.

It literally takes 2 minutes so that's not something I'm even going to worry about. I wouldn't want the wheels to stay attached it would just clutter things up even more.

Replacing only the back wheel leaves you with all kayak weight on the handle.

A wheel already comes stock back there for moving the kayak around. The problem is it tilts left or right when you lift it. This allows for stability and the ability to move the kayak through rough terrain. It's not heavy unless your fully loaded down which I unload before I move it. Why did you record in SELFIE mode? No need to look at yourself while recording. Now everything is backwards in your video. Maybe get a spare set of wheels without bearings for saltwater/sand use? I do like your capped PVC spacers. I was thinking the allthread might damage the kayak but it looks like you used a bushing tube through the axel hole. 👍 I'd suggest using a 5/8 solid rod
